Or 'Pri-marni' as it's known...!
Absolutely NO shopping... What can you but at this time of year? It's not proper summer so no point buying the summer clothes but the weather is too warm to be looking at all the autumn stuff at the moment.
I know that's not the most sensible way to be looking at things, but that's the way I think as up to now have always operated on principe I could 'sort of' afford things when clearly I cant....
You don't really NEED anything I am guessing?!
It is difficult to get out of that mindset though isn't it? Last month I NEEDED a new pair of jeans and wedge shoes (shoes justified as being 'comfortable heels' I could wear all day and the jeans being long enough to reach the floor when wearing heels). £90 in total. Both in sale so 'saved' a total of £95 buying them. Oh how shrewd!!!
Ridiculous! What a way to think! I am ashamed of writing it down....0 -
And I promise you I am making a big effort to change the way I think....0

Hey all, just scared myself by working doing my snowball calculator and getting a debt free date which seems forever away!!! But I will be making sure it's sooner, somehow0

Looking at those last two posts of mine I can see how I have got myself where I am....0

Hi,
My debt free date is 2012... I plan on making it sooner too. Some big changes to make. But am committed0 -
For a small fee, I'll be willing to be a 'Foster Husband/boyfriend' to each of you. My service entails sitting/lying on the couch waiting for my tea to be made, moaning about how the house never gets cleaned correctly while I clip my toe nails onto the carpet and periodically I will impulse buy some gadget or other that I'll lose interest in within a couple of weeks. I also promise never to tidy up after myself, make a meal or tell you how pretty you look today. No flowers will be bought and if you need to weep on my shoulder because that nasty bully at work was picking on you I'll suggest that you talk to your girly friends because "that's what they're there for".
I can guarantee that after just a couple of visits you'll be glad to be a single Moneysaver!

Are you my ex? :rotfl: Ah no wait, there's not way he'd be on this site, he's about as MSE as a big bowl of custard.0 -

lol. I simply put the opposite of everything I do at home *cough*.
I was going to add that for an additional fee, I'd trump loudly and pull the bedclothes over my client's head, while simultaneously saying "Woah Noreen, get a whiff of that one!". Though decided against this as I really shouldn't be in bed with my clients, that's not part of the service, ladies.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

You're completely right - I don't need anything - particuarly not the pencil skirt I was just browsing in my lunch hour! From now on it is strictly window shopping. It sounds like you are as shrewd as me! I always end up with the most terrible "buyers remorse" and mean to take things back but then find them two months later still in the bag with the receipt! Shaming. Recently it's been things for the new flat - mind you I really did NEED cutlery and plates so I think that is justifiable!!0 -
Dithering Dad you have really made me laugh! I think your service would be the perfect antidote to all those dating website adverts that are all over the place!!
Has everyone here done an SOA? I have just had a go but it was a bit hit and miss because I'm not sure what the bills etc will be like on my new flat. I'd like to keep a spending diary but always seem to forget to fill it in after the first few days - does anyone have any hints how best to go about it??0
