I wasn't wearing makeup, but she didn't believe me, I DO 'have a bit of help' with my hair but which 'natural blonde' is going to admit that?! so I lied and she DID believe me. I just was quietly amused, ate my enormous prawns and mussels (was a chinese all you can eat barbecue) and didn't see him again

She meant well i think, it was all just a bit much!

I have several more tales to tell, but am off to bed as up obscenely early in the morning. Would love to have some others to read in the morning when I check this thread again! How about it? Dating disasters anyone?! Or is it just me????!!!!

OMG - It makes me glad im not on those sites I dont want to appear as a laughing stock, im dubious about going onto a dating agency or dating site, Ive never used them, and how did we all cope before internet and mobile phones??, we hardly wrote a list on a hall of fame marked "available and looking". I think its like imagining a heart is a lock, and emotion a key. I think in love (if its true), my lock can be opened but only by the one who holds the right key to open it, just as my key would only work for their heart...Sorry if it sounds gobbledegook, or mushy. I could be wrong (hence my singleton), but I carry that thought everywhere I go, its the only way I can "pretend" that there is someone out there waiting for fate to place us together.

Think I will give that thread a miss hun....ive only ever had two dates in my life, and both lasted over 10 yrs, so Im not best placed for dating disasters

Oh! I've just looked at that site. I think I'm scared! Some of it looks pretty funny though. I doubt I'd be brave enough to put my profile up. I'd probably just get people having a laugh.

No dating disasters here, led a very sheltered life lol. (well there was one disaster that wasn't even dating.........not going to go there tho'.......ended up in my losing my job)

It doesn't sound mushy marleyboy, think we all want the same thing just express it in different ways. Don't think it is "pretending", why shouldn't there be someone out there for you? You seem like a lovely guy and have a lot of fans on here lol

It does look soooo scary doesn't it. Not sure it's for me either. I saw this woman on the telly though who got to a certain age and desperately wanted a hubby and kids. Anyhow she turned it into a job and replied to loads of ads. She was on TV with her hubs and baby after she found him online....
