I went to France... wandered for miles, sat in cafes people watching, ate some fantastic food, drank some great wine... I would definitely do it again...
Doesn't sound good...is this the monday feeling kicking in!?0 -

I am now proficient in eating in a restaurant on my own, having a drink in a pub on my own (not all night, not propping the bar up and slurring...!) AND have this year been on weekend abroad on my own after the mate I was going with let me down 3 HOURS before the plane was due to take off. I had a GREAT time too. You just have to get into the right mindset....!
You're right i should accept the challenge - a little scary though - hmm Friday is my free day this week but thats when the pubs are the most busiest...0 -

Sounds like it was a nice break away - really should start getting into the mindset to do things by myself. - i'm planning on taking a month and a half off next year to go off for some travels by myself but it would be good to do things now.0 -
Go for it Princess Peach! I used to eat and drink alone lots when I worked away from home and after a hesitant start (I only ordered room service for the first 6 months!) I started to really enjoy it. Take a book, find a nice quiet spot and relax with a well earned drink for a while. What I noticed after a while was that most "couples" who are in the pub don't talk to each other half the time anyway and just sat there looking bored!0

I will do - i'll try and find a pub with a nice outdoors area so i can make the most of this weather - hope it stays like this.0

I have defnitely got the Monday Blues - the weather here is so lovely I'd much rather be outside! Hmmm - France - I hope you ate lots of cheese!
Dollydumpling you are so right - they just sit and stare past each other most of the time - or bicker. I love just sitting and people watching - I can waste hours doing nothing else!0 -
Morning everyone! Happy birthday bunzee! Just spent ages reading all the posts from last night - being off work is great!
I remember being in a restaurant once and the cople opposite my friend and I didn't open their mouths to one another the whole time! It looked like auto-pilot, that's the last thing we all deserve! Anyone who read my post yesterday will know that my last single friend has told me she's been seeing someone for 3 weeks. Not only has it annoyed me that I'm the only single one left but it also bothered me that she didn't tell me until 3 weeks in (she's my oldest and best friend).
I suppose the issue I have with it is that I put my heart on my sleeve when it comes to my friends, and I tell them about every nice man I meet, every date I go on, and whether things are going well or not. So I got offended because she didn't tell me until now.
I told another friend and she says I'm overreacting. It's put me in a really bad mood today and has made me vow that I wont tell them anything about my love life (or lack of) anymore.
Such a shame, and I suppose it might be an overreaction on my part but they're quick enough to come to me when something bad has happened in their lives, so why not the good stuff too?
Sorry for the rant. I'm turning to the only place I can. :rolleyes:LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00
