pmsl! That's the kind of thing that happens to me - I'm on a couple of sites and they keep matching me with a guy I know fairly well - who is about the least like my type as is possible

I know a bloke who was matched with his ex-wife.....
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

  • Good morning!! (can't sleep as its too hot hence why I'm typing this at silly o clock!!)

Thought I would give a brief detail of how I'm still single at 30!

I was tease and bullied by the guys at school, I was always told I wasn't pretty or I was a geek (I wear glasses) didn't go out with school friends much due to out of school activities that were not school related. Never really had a boyfried as a result. A guy I worked with when I was still at college showed an interest in me and in a nut shell I was used. This happened several other times, I seem to attract the nutcases or the guys who are after 1 thing and 1 thing only. I met my ex (my only proper relationship) through a mutual friend and we were together for about 18 months, both of us were in debt and we lived quite a distance away from each other and eventually this is what broke us up, in hind sight for the best.

I don't go out much due to paying off my debts, I joined plentyoffish.com (its free to join and message others) last year after a friend met his girlfriend there. I have met some total wierdos via their messaging service, I have only met 1 guy face to face and he is lovely, I didn't make a love connection BUT I have made a great friend with whom I have loads in common and will be a friend for a long time yet. I may or may not find my love connection there but at least I can say I've tried!
Only 2 Months to go until I'm Debt free! :)
£2 savers club ~ have lost count!!
Loose change challenge ~ £129 banked 20/10/08 don't know what is in the jar!
Proud to be dealing with my Debt

Joined plentyoffish yesterday, very cluttered site and still cant navigate it too well. Chatted to a couple of locals. I have actually accepted a 'meet for coffee' request  maybe I should put that as a tick against our earlier challenge ;)

I am totally with you! (btw love Criminal Minds!) I still have the thing in th eback of my mind that you will meet Mr Right when you are not really looking .. bit easier to do that though when you are younger and in pups & clubs all the time! Not so easier sat at home :rotfl:

There's some middle ground between 'pubs and clubs' and 'sat at home'. You could go out and not go to a club! There are less 'towny' pubs, maybe try and find a nice real-ale local or something? They tend to be the kind of conversation pubs, rather than party/drunk pubs. Or go out and get a hobby - join a walking group, go swimming, find a cheap night class and learn photography. If you just get out and talk to people, the rest will come :)

I love to cook, I cooked the sunday roasts, which was ate at the table together. Family would all be at the table, and it was a good opportunity for the kids to talk openly. Cooking a meal for 1 isnt as spectaculer, theres no point me buying a joint of Beef and yorkshire pud, for just me, too much wastage. So here its quick meals.

Marleyboy - i'll happily let you cook for me - so when are next down south???;) ;);)
  • Morning everyone! Just been catching up on all the posts over the weekend - should be working but this is much more entertaining! Hope you all had lovely weekends x

Oh, and thank you for the spendingdiary.com tip - going to check it out now.
  • Buffy - good for you - havent quite manged having a drink on my owe in pub but am working towards it - hope it goes well xx

This should be your challenge for the week. I am now proficient in eating in a restaurant on my own, having a drink in a pub on my own (not all night, not propping the bar up and slurring...!) AND have this year been on weekend abroad on my own after the mate I was going with let me down 3 HOURS before the plane was due to take off. I had a GREAT time too. You just have to get into the right mindset....!
  • Let me just add to that last post, let me down 3 hours before the plane was due to take off by TEXT!
  • That is very naughty! Good on you going by yourself - where did you go?

I will accept your challenge to have a solo drink this week - the way that today is going it might be happening at lunchtime! ;)
