Hi y'all!!
So sorry I haven't been around for aaaages, but am not using the pooter at home cos it blummin hurts my poorly shoulder (I now have strained neck/shoulder muscles and rotator cuff tendonitis - ah the fun never stops!)
Am just popping on quickly before a meeting in, ooh, 7 minutes... As you'll see from my siggy, I've been clothes shoppingPopped into M&S to get some work trousers and ended up buying a dress for this weekend (going away with CM
) As my legs looked almost bluey-white, I also had to buy some fake tan. Oh, and some new undies  All this for one who hates clothes shopping :rotfl:
So, things are going well with CM. Seen him loads since first date, and there's been a big development in that he's told his soon-to-be-ex-wife about us and she's delighted! Thinks I'm great and thinks we'll be v happy together! She's also told him about her new fella, so they're getting on so much better now there's no cloak & dagger behaviour, so hoorahs all round!!
Doh! Only 3 mins to go before meeting! Better crack on, but will pop on here tomorrow to catch up on your shennanigans

It is true that weight-bearing excercise is important to strenghten bones but vigorous excercise can sometimes cause problems. For example I have a problem with arthritis in my big toes and this means swimming, cycling etc is better for me than running.
I think in reality a mixture of different kinds of exercise is the best as you work different sets of muscles and of course any exercise is better than none!
45 mins is quite a long walk and sounds like really good exercise.
I have a bike and ride to work but it only takes 10 mins so not the best! and certainly not enough to negate the bars of chocolate I've taken to eating!!!
Although good for me to to work close to home!!!
I do ride my bike to meetings and things so somedays get more exercise.
Have you thought about extending your route? Find a nice park or something nearby and go to/from work via a circuit or two... stick it into a lower gear and get those muscles working!
Hey Susu, great news on the CM, is he not so CM now, more like SM??? The weekend away sounds fun but don't go hurting your shoulder again!!!The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Thanks TDQO!
This is of course assuming I'm the kind of person that can get up earlier than I need to!!!!
In my shame I must admit that my office is right next to a very large park and I've only been in there 3 times in 4 months.....
I went to a really interesting lecture this evening with the CEO of the Childrens Society on their new report 'Can every child have a good childhood' . I found it really interesting and there was even a really good buffet afterwards - yum! And all very MSE as the ticket was free with work!!
Hurrah!
Hope you are all out having a fantabulous evening and that explains why all so quiet!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

You could always do a few laps after work.... if you're not too tired and hungry.
Hmmm that sounds like an interesting talk, what was the conclusion???
I went to a talk on weds night about the expansion of the coal terminal here in Newcastle cus my company is providing all the huuuuge machinery for the stockpiles. Hi everyone, it would be great to join this thread - i feel like i know you guys already. That must sound strange to you but i've just spent the last 2 hours reading this thread - ok i only got to page 9 :rotfl: so i feel like i've met the people that posted back then.
There's no way i'm going to be able to read this whole thread as i don't even have a computer in my flat (i rent a flat).....so i sent a few of you pm's (if i haven't it's because i'm tired, not cos i don't care!) and then i decided to dive in.
sarahb123 - thanks for starting this thread - my mood has lifted today just by reading this. Just for a background i'm single, 38 years old, rent, work full time.......don't watch tv cos i refuse to pay the licence when what i really want is a computer for the flat (LOL)....that's it really. I guess right now i'm actually quite disciplined with money - but i haven't been good in the past - i was never a big spender, just totally uninterested in financial matters and so tended to ignore correspondence, etc, and get resulting CCJ's for ridiculous amounts such as £100.
OMG did i really just tell you that stuff.....that's worse than someone who has got into debt with much higher amounts - cos mine is pathetic! I mean if you are going to do it, do it properly. :rotfl:
Being disciplined with money now sometimes makes me a bit depressed though because i feel such a failure by 'society's' standards - or what i perceive to be society's standards........and yet i know it's not really true, life just isn't that black and white. I think it's just that i'm surrounded by couples who have much more free time than me, more money for leisure activities, etc......and for 'toys' (i want that computer!).....and so by comparison i feel bad about myself.
I forget that i don't watch tv BY CHOICE and sometimes feel that i am so poor!
Anyway, just thought i'd say hi on this thread. I think you all sound like great people and hope i can talk with you more! :T
bye for now

Grr, I hate couples sometimes (that might be jealousy though:o ) They have 2 incomes and one lot of billsDon't feel bad about yourself, us singletons are fab! Know what you mean about feeling a failure sometimes, but it will all come good in the end.:D
It is horrible having to be so disciplined with money all the time, wouldn't exactly call myself disciplinedas such, but I'm getting better. Good luck with getting a computer sorted, they really are a godsend, can't believe I managed for so long without one. Can't believe you don't have a tv:eek: must admit I don't watch much actually on the tv these days but like to have it there just in case.
