I have a lovely pile of books by my bed, clean sheets, a tidy(ish) room & I'm relishing having it all to myself so will wish you all a happy & positive start to the week & goodnight

    lula xx

I love the pile of books by the bed - I love reading and if I spent more time doing that than spending, I might not be in such a pickle with money!

After months of saying I will do it, I have started reading all the Harry Potter books from the start again. It's great!

P.S I was joking about the lifetime ban, should have put a :rotfl: after it. Things sometimes don't come across properly when they are written down.:o I don't mind being called a spinster by a fellow [strike]singleton[/strike] old maid:eek::D

sarah, I didnt think you were serious for one minute; I think I've got a pretty good idea on your sense of humour by now & hope you realise I was being humorous in return :D & have edited your post to reflect this :rotfl:

Terrible news about the car  but i'm in full agreement as to your plans to be rich  My DD informed me yesterday that she plans to work very hard & retire at 40  now why didnt I think of that

Mags - sorry hon but I just dont know about switch. I can tell you that money due into my account today was actually in there by 11pm last night, so might be worth you keeping on checking tonight; but then a payment I made on a visa debit card on saturday still doesnt seem to have come out

Banks operating prodecures are beyond my comprehension & I think we should go back to the barter system whereby we're paid in shoes, clothes, wine & chocolate :D .

jenevieve - I love to read, nothing highbrow :o just good stories &/or stuff that makes me think. I've just discovered Paulo Coelho & now plan to work my way through all his books. Very interesting guy; he only writes a book every 2 years & always starts in January after seeing a white feather.

DD now want to use pc to check on her penguin so will pop back later,
    bye for now

thanks tried to switch it there and it wouldnt go through told me to contact the bank the debit card is with which i am doing now. they say the card is active but it could be because the bos havent transferred funds and although pay is pending its not cleared.

Mags - I have no useful help re: payments and timings of such but wanted to post on here :A so that you knew you had some support. These financial things seem to make no sense at all at and you just know that there is really a much easier way of doing things...... (I was going to offer you a dodgy hug but can't find the right smilie for it - can you use your imagination??!! :rotfl: )

I am currently reading the Letters of Noel Coward which is most interesting but it did make me laugh at the beginning as the author who put them all together went on about how Noel was very discreet about his sexuality and wouldn't have approved of all these modern Gay men ..... but his letters are the campest thing you have ever read in your life!!!!

I am also reading the Bill Bryson book on Shakespeare which I got last yr for Xmas and read then but wanted to read again for some unknown reason but am enjoying it!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

i think its because i have no overdraft just on the fone to lloyds the now and my wages are being cleared at the moment and should show in account at midnight

its because there is no funds there to cover payment but i just thought i would try because it wouldnt come off till tomorrow company have been good and if i call them tomoz it will go through quicker

    things can only get better.

Too much dribbling over thought of Johnny Depp in full swashbuckling mode in my case :heartpuls ;)

Page 6 ? what are you on about man, is this thread not in your list of subscriptions... I'm shocked . As the sole surviving male on this thread you have a duty to speak on behalf of your gender & keep all us girlies in order :D

    How's the job hunting ?

    Dropping in to say hi!

Mum had a call from solicitors yesterday to say they wanted to complete on Friday so she is having a bit of a nightmare atm! She is going to move into the new house while she waits for her Housing Association flat ... I've just arragned for a charity to come pick up a load of her stuff on Thursday and it is quite liberating (not sure how) to think I will be doing that soon myself ... semi in mood for a good life declutter atm!

Diet not going so well this week, but will have to wait and see, been getting lots of tips from the Slimming World threads on these boards :) I am planning on getting to target by Xmas 2009 and I am currently at my wedding weight (popped my dress on the other day once fished it out of the attic in new house lol)

Anyway, love to you all, I am lurking and have not forgotten the thread!
