 sometimes my debt panics me..... EVEN after 4 years or so.

I will be free in less than three years with a trust deed - my only option as debt management was taking too long :(

Mothers - yes indeed, very frustrating but cutting her out of my life was the best thing for me, sounds v.harsh to people who have a good relationship with their parents, but unles someone has been in that situation I don't see they can comment & come out with little gems like - she's your mum, you should make it up / make the first move/etc.
Nice to know I'm not the only one :rotfl:

Grrr! How I hate that. Some people just do not have a clue.

I completely get you!! I haven't spoken to my mother in over 10 years and like you I think that cutting her out was of the single most important decisions of my life. She's so poisonous, I can't believe we're from the same gene pool! Mind you, the older I get the more like my late dad I become. Well, apart from the moustache!

You're right though - people do try to force you back together with all that "but she's your mum, you only get one mum" nonsense. Yeah, and she only gets one daughter. Relationships work both ways, but for some reason people seem to think that parent/child relationships are exempt from the usual rules

It's called The Birthing House, to be honest I got it because it was half price, it's apparently the scariest novel since The Shining. There is a line in the blurb which says "the women look scary, angry, all dressed in black with their arms folded." Crikey! They must be bloody furious then!:D

Just had a look on Amazon, is it by Christopher Ransom ?
Was going to say I'll see if the library have got it but if it that one, it's only just been published in paperback so they might not, might be worth a read though.

But for now I'd better step away from Amazon before I order something / lots of things & go & have some tea, sausage & pasta bake, see you all in a while

Inky, I also bought an atlas recently for much the same reason, I'm ok with other countries but struggle with this one! never have any idea where anywhere is or how far away, am sick of looking silly:o Am a bit more informed now:D

Have been on another mini book buying expedition, had a voucher for a free book and ended up getting 3 more, so spent £12.50 on books which should have been £28, am quite pleased with that, one is a ghost story so shall have to wait until there is at least one other person in the house before I start that one, I get scared easily when I'm home alone and it's too quiet.:o

The diet is not going well I think, have been quite sensible but have been to the drive thru today as I was bored and hungry, Sunday is my weigh in day so I shall see the damage then, on the plus side I think I am going to have to drastically cut back on alcohol as I had some on Thursday evening after not having any for a while and felt absolutely dreadful on Friday morning, shouldn't drink on a work night anymore, I think.:o The problem is I never have just one glass so will just have to make sure I don't keep any in the house. should help with the debts as well, I always go in for a bottle of wine and end up coming out with a basket full of stuff I don't need.

Sarah. Not trying to tell you how to do it but I would recommend the method advocated by Paul McKenna. If you have Living TV, channel, they are re-running it over the next few days. I was watching it and straight away thought "Yes. I can do that" and I'm quite a sceptic.

Better have a nose YouTube then SuSu, my friend has volunteered to show me when she gets back from visiting her family in New Zealand, later this month.

Well I believe that my parents were severely damaging for me too. I forgive them because I realise that they didn't know any better. However, forgiving them does not equate to allowing myself to continue to be infested by their mixed up beliefs.

Paul McKenna's method for what? Decluttering or giving up drink?

I like Paul McKenna - got his Improve Your Life in 7 Days book and CD. Haven't done it for a while, but I was right into it 12 months ago and I was all like "I'm a tiger, grrrr" :rotfl:

It was about how to lose weight - though there was other stuff thrown in about self-worth, the committee in the head and how to EDIT stop /EDIT the committee running your life etc. Great topic but I'm off out now
