Gosh I've missed a lot this afternoon.

Hmm, where to chip in?? Well I'm watching the new CSI-NY tonight which I'm looking forward to and then a DVD from Lovefilm.

I'm super happy on one hand as I finally did my tax return last night and found out I have a £150 rebate!!!:j

But super sad on other hand as my lovely purple suede boots (which had an unfortunate incident over NYE) have got a hole so I had to take them back to the shop. They didn't have anymore in stock but I really loved them and I really miss them. Trekked the WHOLE of Oxford Street looking for boots that were cheap, fitted and were nice without success.....

However got some super fab bargains in Butler & Wilson - amazing skull bling necklace for £15 (was £98) and a gorgeous embroidered bag for £5 (was £38).

Plus went to New look for work trousers and I don't fit into anything....

I have a good relationship with my mother although we don't talk about really personal things - I never discuss boyfriends and the like with her. The b/f's I've told her about have never been what you might call suitable!!!!

My parents didn't get married until they were 33 so I have never been pressured to meet someone and get married etc. I think my Mum had to deal with enough of that in the 60s / 70s!!!

Mags - have a good night out, glad you found Bill on youtube - that is a good idea for future ref! Hadn't thought of that.

Susu - hope you feel better soon

RMR - how f'ing annoying  took his time to realise!!! Oh well at least you didn't go on a few dates and get really into him.....

Sarah - I know what you mean - I should so clear up my bedroom but I just can't get motivated. And I know I would feel better for it!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

But I know exactly what you mean, Sarah, about having nobody there for you. And no expectation of it because I've never been used to it. I think it probably has influenced my expectations - partly through being so used to doing everything myself, and partly through having no positive 'role model' couple.

Exactly. I think it has influenced everything. I think if I did have someone there for me I would have a difficult time believing it.

    Hello All,

Sorry - I started something with the "Mum" thing but it's nice too know I'm not the only one, sometimes you do think it's just you & :D to all those people who have good relationships with their Mums.

Been on the phone to my mate for nearly 2 hours (incase you missed me :rotfl: ), she wants me to go & help her pick a new sofa / armchairs tomorrow & then make her some curtains to go with this new furniture

Must agree Sarah, tv a bit pants tonight, although I may watch CSI - NY, 'cos I like the bloke who plays Flack ;)

    I love Flack too - he's lush!!

Although I do have a good relationship with my mother I had a nightmare Christmas about 3 yrs ago. It was the Xmas after my sisters wedding and I had the 'temerity' to complain about having to watch the bloomin' wedding DVD. I later heard my mum and sister talking and she said that I was jealous of my younger sister getting married and that I was worried I was going to alone forever!! I was sooo furious and upset but we had a big family do that day and I couldn't bring it up and I left the next morning.

Well done on the tax return done :T but  on the purple boots, I remember you saying that they got, err "damaged" on NYE, can you not find another pair on t'internet ?

I saw there a new CSI NY starting tonight on C5 at 9.25 & thought oh thats one with Flack in, then my mind wandered off on a little tangent & I was trying to think whether there was anyone I liked in the other 2 CSI's, came up with a blank  but haven't watched them for a while though.

Watched The Mummy while on the phone to my mate but seen it loads of times before.

    Back soon

Ouch! I get "there's only you left now," (married/engaged/children/own home etc). I'm sure I would forget if it wasn't for the constant reminders.

I hate other people's wedding videos, is there anything more dull?

I'm watching CSI NY... another Flack fan :D , although I've no objections to Wolf in Miami either. I love CSI, it's ridiculous.

I don't get nagged about my singledom, I think they've given up on me?

Ah well I have chocolate cheesecake to console me. :D

Indeed, I was joking with a gay friend the other week that I'm sure he will regret the advance of civil partnerships as we had just left a party and he was asked constantly when he was going to marry his boyfriend!!!

Agree re: wedding vids - especially if I'm in them as you can generally find me either stuffing my face with food, spilling wine down my front or else from an unbelievably bad angle!! I've been told I must watch my friends vid as there is a 'hilarious' part when I get up and dance  Thankfully avoided the humiliation so far!

Other hot CSI dudes include Warwick from CSI original - no one decent in Miami as they are way too arrogant and annoying!!

I've looked for boots but will try again. They're hush puppies, so in several shops, Barratts had them but not in my size. I got them from Jones originally - will keep up search too (especially as most shops have them for £30 now!!)

Sarah your so right wedding video's should be binned, they are boring although i suppose they are there to help us fall to sleep, got an email from my cousin today we haven't seen each other for ages and she said I'm single now... I know at last, think she realised what we had all been saying, she was always so happy and lively and every time we saw her she seemed quiet and reserved, now apparantly she's out every other weekend living it up, I'm really happy for her bout time.

Stupid question: I am cutting down on drinking but I'm not stopping completely:D and have a small bottle of port here, about 10cl, does anyone know what you drink it with? Have never had port before, it was part of a present. I know you have port and lemon, but how much of each and is there anything else it goes with? It seems quite strong, surely you don't drink it neat?
