Hiya!
All this talk of cross stitching makes me want to dig out my half-finished bag of designs. Haven't done it for years (cross stitching, naughty!) but found it really useful when I gave up my 20-a-day habit in my 20s. Okay, so I still have the odd puff now, but it's max 6 a day and anyway I'm stopping again when I finish this pack later
Am into knitting at the mo, though. Made some jumpers and Dr Who scarves for my nephews last year and, despite not knitting for about 15 years, I found it really easy to get back into. Am going to buy some patterns and wool to make myself some long jumpers/cardis for next autumn/winter.
I had a good time at the comedy club last night. Wasn't really :rotfl: but was still  . There were 3 comedians and the MC (who was by far the funniest, and v cute - was Irish and looked like a 20-something Stephen Fry). Two of the comedians were... well... I wasn't massively impressed but my pals were in hysterics. I liked the last guy best - he did funny songs (my fave was one about wanting to kill James Blunt!) - and I bought his CD at the end of the night and had a chat with him about Dr Who! He signed my CD to "the big Who-er", which was how I introduced myself after our Dr Who chat!
There were lots of lovely fellas there, but as I was one of 13 gals and one token fella (no-one fancies him though!), I guess we were an intimidating bunch :rotfl: I did get chatting to a nice NZ fella outside while we were having a pre-gig ciggie, but then I lost him when we went inside. Went out at every break for another fag and looked for him, but didn't see him again
Apart from that, I've nowt much to report. Got up early today so I could do my chores and shopping and get home before noon, and have had a lazy day (lovely!). Watched eps 1 & 2 of the 1st series of Gavin & Stacey on iPlayer. Never seen it before, but glad I've caught up now - 'twas v funny :rotfl:

Ooh, it's always a toughie having to leave the lovely warm house isn't it? Wrap up warm and I'm sure you'll have a fab time!
I'm not up to much. Half the freeview channels have disappeared (no BBC or ITV), but that's probably a good thing cos Saturday night telly's usually rubbish as soon as Strictly's finished! I've got some work to do, but will prob do that tomorrow *
Really need an early night (can't believe it's only 5.40pm, it feels like about 10pm!) and have got my new books to read as well. Then again... depends who's here tonight and what kind of topics end up getting covered!!
* I say this knowing darned well that come tomorrow I'll busy myself with reading the papers and drinking coffee all day!£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

one is a ghost story so shall have to wait until there is at least one other person in the house before I start that one, I get scared easily when I'm home alone and it's too quiet.:o
What's the book Sarah ?

Always wanted to know how to knit, well I can do some stitches but my Mum always used to cast on & off for me as she got really impatient 'cos I didn't pick it up quickly (casting on & off, not knitting), can't really ask her now, as we sooooooooooo do not get on at all.
Not up too much at all Susu, Inky no mates that's me :rotfl:

SuSu, sounds like a good evening last night! Shame you didn't find NZ man again, I hate it when that happens:rolleyes:
I also got up early to go shopping/do chores, have just watched QI on iplayer and also a sciencey thing which I pretended to understand, I like to have something intellectual on on the background when I am tidying up in the hope that some of it will seep in.
Am trying to muster up the energy to finish some of the things I put on the "get it done" thread, I know my wardrobe needs doing but I just can't face it, then I am planning to finish a book I started in the week and choose which of my new ones to read next. Also need to hoover and polish and do some washing. Oh the excitement! Hope there's something good on tv tonight or will be very bored. Can't even have a drink to take away the pain as I am cutting down for a while. Hopefully seeing the end result of the clear out will be worth it. But I want instant results. I should do a bit more tidying, I always feel better when my room looks nice but it's too cold to move!Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

im sure once im out i shall be fine
just been reading whose in dancing on ice think i will give it a miss
my early night on wed was disturbed by an awful noise and me being half asleep couldnt figure it out and it was worse in the kitchen. 1am it was then i finally realise my neighbour has her washing machine on and its on spin
that was me wide awake:mad: sometimes my debt panics me..... EVEN after 4 years or so.

I think there are some vids on YouTube that show you how to knit, although there's a chance I've just made that up:rotfl: Worth having a look though, cos once you can cast on/off you're away! My aunty's been knitting for years and she regularly unpicks one jumper to make another - she's the original MSE!
I know what you mean about not getting on with your ma. I'm in the same boat. Not your ma, obviously, but my own!£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

It's called The Birthing House, to be honest I got it because it was half price, it's apparently the scariest novel since The Shining. There is a line in the blurb which says "the women look scary, angry, all dressed in black with their arms folded." Crikey! They must be bloody furious then!:DPay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -
I watched QI earlier as well! I have a small but perfectly formed crush on Alan Davies
I also watched doco on Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n' Roll, but it was so rushed - 5 decades in 50 minutes
It was like the kind of filler you see on a plane...
I've got housework and stuff to do as well as my flatmate gets home tomorrow, but I figure I can do it tomorrow. It's easier if I wake up and get stuck in rather than force myself off the sofa, where I've been lovely and comfy all day
My Saturday nights used to be something to look forward to, but since the Daily Mail readership went completely over the top and forced the lovely Russell Brand to resign, I feel like I've lost a little bit of sunshine from my weekend. I've downloaded some episodes, but like to save them for the gym - which of course I'll be frequenting regularly come Monday :A£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Better have a nose YouTube then SuSu, my friend has volunteered to show me when she gets back from visiting her family in New Zealand, later this month.
Mothers - yes indeed, very frustrating but cutting her out of my life was the best thing for me, sounds v.harsh to people who have a good relationship with their parents, but unles someone has been in that situation I don't see they can comment & come out with little gems like - she's your mum, you should make it up / make the first move/etc.
Nice to know I'm not the only one :rotfl:
