Gruesome as in I'm gonna be scared when I'm on my on in a place I don't know? maybe I'll start it before I go coz to be fair I'm never going to read more than 3 pages on that night anyways. Reading sends me to sleep no matter how much I'm enjoying the read.

I'm writing that title down and I'll get onto it tomorrow. Mainly so I can have something else to cross off my list. Infact I think I'll have visit library as one 'to do' and read gargoyles as another coz I really am struggling!

Yes I fancy it for the stress relief. I'm a laid back person when I've got a simple life but can be a total stress head when I have something to do or somewhere to go. Mainly due to me being very unorganised and ALWAYS late.

How you finding it so far cutting back on the wine? Are you cutting down drastically or just a bit?
My diet has gone to rat !!!!!! this week. Went back to the gym on Monday aswell and not been back since :( Was meant to go today but DD came home from school ill so didn't get chance. Will definately start again on Monday though. And really get into it. Only 2 months to go until Benidorm and I'd just LOVE to be a size 18 for that! I'm a 20 at the mo but I've come down from a 22/24 so an 18 would be amazing for me.

Our boots don't do socks :(

God, I am late everywhere. Never been on time in my entire life, that is the one thing I would change about myself if I could, I hate it, want to be neat, tidy, punctual, organised. [STRIKE]Hate[/STRIKE] am very jealous of people who are.

Am trying to cut back drastically, am having my first drink this week, promised myself a glass and would save the rest for the weekend, the bottle is nearly gone:o Foodwise have been ok as am refusing to spend any money so just relying on fridge/cupboard.

cant believe you've come down from a 24 to an 20, thats amazing:j 18 mustn't be too far away, you'll definitely do it at that rate! Am currently at my highest weight ever, just feel such an odd shape at the moment.

P.S. No socks at your local Boots? Move house Bowski. Needs must.:D

2 fab things for the list Bowski, the library was on my list last year, also I need to lose 2 stone so I have broken it down, I have "lose half a stone" 4 times, that has bumped it up a bit!:o It's funny you put about carwashes before, am v scared of carwashes!:o What about trying a new food or drink, learnig a few words in another language, planting something, having a certain target on quidco, winning a prize, decluttering, fitting into a certain dress, there are loads when you really think, am still stuck on 60 though:mad:

No worries Sarah, I do have plenty of other shops to buy from! I shall be checking boots stores around the country wherever I go now though!

I also feel an odd shape at the moment.. I'm at my lowest weight for as long as I can remember yet I feel the most uncomfartable! I've lost mainly on the top half and I've always had the huge bum/hips but the big bust/stomach/arms evened it out but now I'm losing it on top I feel like the bum/hips are HUUUUGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I'm not liking looking in the mirror much. Although I have lost it off my face which is a total bonus because I look at that everyday in the mirror straightening my hair. I had Lots of compliments over xmas from people that hadn't seen me since the xmas before.

I'm glad you're doing ok foodwise. It certainly helps when ya can't afford take aways! Hopefully get through the first few weeks and you do eventually stop craving the fatty/sugary foods. Well thats what happened to me last year when I was dieting.

I know what ya mean about being late. I really really really don't mean to be late which makes it even more annoying! When we went out for my mam's b'day they told me table was booked for 5:45 when actually it was booked for 6:15 coz they knew I'd be late...and I still didn't show up till 6:30  I don't know what it is, coz I dont wear makeup so it's not like it takes me ages to get ready. I think it's coz I always leave things till last minute. I always think things will only take me 2 mins when sometimes they take alot longer. My sister is like 'well why don't ya start getting ready 20 mins sooner than you plan to' but it just does not happen like that! Like I say to her, I wouldn't leave it so late if I knew I'd be late. I know that sounds utter pap but I'm hoping you understand what I mean if you're the same as me lol

I get it totally. No need to explain, I think we understand each other:D I have always been like this:rolleyes:

I know what you mean about losing weight, I always lose it on my top half first, I have a narrow waist and huge hips, even at my thinnest I looked like a cello. :o

Glad you have other sources of socks, was about to send a crack SAS team to rescue you:D We girls must have our stripy, patterned, pink, lovely socks!

Am off to bed, think the wine has done the trick:D

Ah ok, I think I can manage that on my own! Was a bit worried it'd be scary or child abuse related. neither of which I could handle lol

Excellent idea of having lost 1/2 stone x4. It's the best way to do it though. If ya just had lose 2 stone it would take much longer to get crossed off!
I'm not scared of carwashes if someone else is driving... I'm scared incase I don't go on the right tracks! I'm not the most confident of drivers it can be said! I'm not keen on paying £5 for the pleasure either! I might save that one till I'm debt free as I shall definately be debt free this year.

Some great ideas there for my list. I do have to try duck as one of them, there's nothing else I fancy trying lol It's too late to think about it now but I shall have a rethink with those ideas tomorrow!
60 is very impressive by the way!!
I don't want it to end up being that I add to my list each time I'm about to do something new just so I can have something to cross off. It's fine for now but my full and final list shall be printed off last day of the month! If I don't make 100 thats ok but I shall try my best.

I think I'm going to have to go to bed now coz I am totally starving :(

    Thanks for the chat!

    Night :)

I'm the same when it comes to weight although recently I've noticed it all appearing on my belly. I used to always have a really flat stomach even as a 14 (although that when I was ultra fit, had a BMI of 23 and was doing 2 hours a day in the gym) but now it all wibble wobbles when I walk.

Now, where's that gym membership card of mine!?
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I think it's normal for this to be the way you lose weight when doing it through food alone. If you want to lose weight from the bottom half, you'll need to use weight bearing exercises as well as some cardio.

Books-wise. I love them too. My fave author is Marian Keyes. She is a chick lit author, but also tackles some subjects you wouldn't normally find in chick lit. Like in Rachels Holiday which is about drug addiction. I also like Cecilia Ahearne who's writing is slightly different, but easy to read.

I'm currently reading man and wife, which is by Tony Parsons. It's a good book, but not one I think will stick in my mind for years.

I totally recommend the Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. Both books that had me thinking for hours afterwards.

I'm not really generous with the books, my market sells used books for a £1, and I swop them with my sis but she keeps giving me them back, then i have to find a box, i was lucky the other year she had them stored in her garage and it got flooded and the insurance paid for them, we split the money, so really if anyone wants any let me know titles and I'll see if I have them but please i don't want them back, I want to clear my spare room so I can get a bed in it.
i read Rachels Holiday, Marian Keyes did some more about Rachels sisters which are good as well. best book i ever read is 84 by George Orwell, to say he wrote it years ago it could have been written today.

Ah yes, Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver! Brilliant books - thanks for reminding me RMR. I was gutted when I finished the Time Traveller's Wife - I missed the characters immediately. Read it again a few months later and it was still brilliant (in fact possibly even better as I'd got my head round the whole time travelling thing!). I think I heard they were going to make it into a film  Will need to check it out.

Also, eco, thanks for reminding me about 1984 as well. We read it at school for our O Levels and it's one I've been thinking about re-reading as a grown up as I'm sure it'll make a lot more sense now! Orwell wrote it in 1948, btw.

Now, for Sarahb and Bowski, and anyone else who's always late, or forgetful, or lacking in confidence, or unhappy... (I think every one of us can tick at least one of those boxes!!), here's another book recommendation: Being Happy by Andrew Matthews. My friend bought it for me when I was 25 and I was at my lowest possible ebb and I can honestly say that it completely turned my life around. So much so that I've bought copies for at least 5 other friends and they've all bought copies for their friends. It's a self-help book based on NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), but it's written in really easy-to-read chapters (with cartoon illustrations) that take no more than 10 minutes to read. It talks you through how to change the way your mind works and thinks, for example...

I used to be really forgetful. Ridiculously so. However, this book taught me a simple trick: Instead of thinking "I mustn't forget to buy Being Happy tomorrow", I now think "I must remember to buy Being Happy tomorrow". I then picture myself remembering to buy Being Happy and it sorts of sets the idea in your mind. You mind focuses not on the buying of Being Happy, but on the forget/remember bit.

Oh, it's possibly not the best example, but I've passed that simple tip onto my brother and now he's less forgetful too! It really works. Honestly. Get this:

    Me at 25
    Rubbish job
    Negative outlook - on everything
    Drink problem
    Too many toxic friends
Overbearing, negative mother (think Peggy Mitchell meets Pauline Fowler!)

Then I read Being Happy. I read it, re-read it, then re-read it for months. Within 12 months, I'd:

    Passed my driving test
    Bought a car
    Moved down south
Got the first of many great jobs
Met the first of many great friends
Cut the vile mother out of my life

    Me at 37
Flatshare in lovely area with lovely Italian fella
    Brilliant job that I LOVE
    Positive, expect-the-best outlook
Will be debt-free in a few months
Alcohol free for over 8 years
Lots of lovely, supportive and fabulous friends
No contact with vile mother (that was and still is an outstandingly positive change to my life)

How much of this do I attribute to Being Happy? Pretty much all of it! (and no, I'm not on commission!!)

Sorry for the long post guys! Just as well I've nearly finished my lunch break, eh!

    Catch up with you later
£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
    Finally debt free!
