Um. Sounds like some of these are in order. :grouphug:
I have a bit of the opposite problem re. walls, am currently trying to dismantle mine to at least see over it. I've got very used to having to do everything and worry that I come across as too independent. (Point helpfully raised by best mate of 20 years, who on hearing about my car maintenance course said 'yeah you just don't want to rely on a man, ever'.) I am making an effort to open up and let people know when I like them - after all, life is short.
If I want to be Nigella I will have to learn to cook... not my area of expertise!
Going to bed now or I will fall asleep on the rug in front of the fire!

But we shouldn't have to worry about this! Being independent shouldn't be something to be embarrassed about and yet I am, well not exactly embarrassed but I know not to make too much of a point of it. And it's ridiculous.
