I've got them too - maybe they'll lower as the years go back, but at 32, I'm not chucking in the towel and settling for any less than 90% perfect at the moment!
I don't know that they do get lower, you get used to being on your own and less likely to give it up for imperfection! although personality is more important now and looks less (although not unimportant).:oMortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

I don't know how people settle. Being with someone in that capacity would annoy me greatly. (as it seemed to annoy my ex when he was with me  )0

I agree, personality is very important - you need to look forward to spending time with that person, for them to make you laugh (and vice versa) and to have stimulating intellectual conversations as well as comfortable silences. Now, I have lots of male friends who tick all these boxes, but none of them are single, or if they are there's no spark between us. That's the real deal breaker isn't it - that elusive "x factor" - can't fake it and can't make it appear out of nothing.
As for looks - well, thank gawd we all like different types!! Personally, I love a bashed up looking, broken-nosed bloke (not a boy, not a geezer but a bloke).
My ideal man would have the personality and intelligence of Danny Baker, Stephen Fry and Russell Brand and the face/body of Tony Adams (former Arsenal/England captain). O. M. G. :rotfl:£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Yep, if anything I'm less likely to settle now than when I was in my twenties as I already knw settling doesn't work. I also find I'm becoming increasingly jealous of my "space" the longer I live on my own.
I struggle to imagine living with anyone else now.0 -

I've never lived with a bloke who wasn't a) a brother, or b) a flatmate, so I have no idea what settling looks or feels like.
What I do know, though, is that if and when I do "settle", I'll make sure we have separate bathrooms!! It's MY space and no boys are allowed£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

What a hideous thought  I mean, Tony's spectacularly scrumptious, but what a self-important bore!!! As for Mr Baker's body.... Oh, I do love Danny Baker though. Feel mean being mean about him when he's done nothing but make me laugh. :happyhear Tell you what, I'd rather have Danny Baker than Tony Adams any day. Gotta make me laugh till I want to pee :rotfl:£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

My friend moved in with her now-husband when she was in her early 20s and they had their own bedrooms. They always slept in his room, but she kept her room in case one of them had a cold or an early start the next morning. Now that's a good idea methinks!£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months
