I would rather have nothing and keep looking than settle for second best. At least then I can say I tried. My big dread is being stuck in the wrong relationship.

Of course people will be interested in you! There really are a lot of decent men out there. It's meeting them that is the problem as it's much harder in your 30s. So you have to finds ways to meet them. I was really surprised when I decided about a year ago that I had to meet someone and I started seriously looking. I thought men in their 30s wanted women in their 20s, and I'm sure some of them do, but a lot of them don't. A lot of them are interseted in women their own age who have something to say for themselves and I was really surprised by that.

As for going to your parents and playing with the cat, I am always surprised whem my married friends say how bored they get sometimes. I think we get seduced by the happily ever after and it isn't always like that. It's just as easy to be bored in a couple.

I agree totally with all of that.

Hi PinkTwirl, hope you're having a good weekend. Have you been to the sales at The Pier?:D

    Hi,

I went last week, got some wine glasses, justified it to myself as it was the last time.
  • Hi,

I would rather be on my own (and be desperately distraught at never having a family or companionship) than to be with a man who I find physically repulsive or dead-dead boring mentally. We all like different things, but we can't be with people just because they like us, when we feel nothing back in some sort of attracted capacity.

I'm 32 next month. Yes it gets me down, but "settling" to me means being with someone that is unappealing to me or abusive.

I would never pay £100 for a bag I didn't like, so there is no way I would sleep in the same bed as someone I didn't find remotely attractive.

  • PinkTwirl - you've just got standards! Nothing to be ashamed of in that.

I've got them too - maybe they'll lower as the years go back, but at 32, I'm not chucking in the towel and settling for any less than 90% perfect at the moment!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I'm still aiming for 100%. If you don't ask, you don't get!

  • Wayhey, I'm online; It's only taken Talktalk 8 hours to restore my broadband connection. How are we in Sarah's thread tonight?
