Single and in debt.

Hello SuSu,
I think I agree with you about being able to deal with debt more effectively alone - baked beans on toast perfectly acceptable for one - although vile - but definitely not a romantic meal for 2  . I'm in leafy surrey too - damn expensive isnt it

Hi Lula
Yeah, it's pretty pricey in Surrey, but I managed to get a good deal by flatsharing for a reasonable rate that includes all bills, and I get my own bathroom (which after 10 years of sharing is a real luxury :T )
AND, I get to flatshare with a ridiculously cute Italian former footballer! It's nice to have something lovely to look at when you get home :rotfl:£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Hello :hello:
Bad dates - not good! Been there and resolved never to go on a date unless I liked them to begin with. Still waiting!
LOL! I know what you mean about bad dates! I've had enough of them to put me off for life, and despite being the one that makes the first move, I always seem to ask out the numpties! :rotfl:£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

It's good to find these boards, I guess I'm not the only one to have ever shopped out of boredom. The lonliness of not having anything much to do evenings or weekends has driven my debt since I moved out of my ex's house. I need some motivation to not go into The Pier so I do not buy any more patterned wine glasses!

He he! I have loads of those! It's the first thing I head for in the shop:D
I definitely shop out of boredom, so easy to spend £50 here, £100 there. So difficult to get out of the mindset that I deserve it. Of course I do! Am trying to explain to myself that deserving it doesn't mean I HAVE to have it.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

Well, I would ask him, but then I'd have to admit to talking about him on here!! I know he's single, though...;)£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Very out of character for me - I impulse-bought some clothes today (I hate clothes shopping). D'you know why?? Cos of a lousy bloke, that's why. Sorry to dump this on you lot, but I haven't been able to talk to anyone about it yet. Here goes...
A couple of weeks ago, I met a bloke for coffee (we were put together by a mutual friend/colleague). We got one well, so I asked him out for dinner. He said no because he "didn't think it would work". Fair enough. Move on.
However, last week, he emailed me and asked me if I'd like to go out. I said okay, but as I was away last week it wouldn't be till this weekend.
I texted him yesterday to say I was back and did he want to do something this weekend. Know what he said?
"Sex would be good. You up for it?"
 I've met this guy ONCE!!
He texted a few more times, outlining details of what he'd like to do this weekend...
I eventually replied that while I might consider going for dinner with him, sex was not on the menu. Funnily enough, he stopped texting after that! The bare-faced cheek of it, eh
Fortunately, buying a new top & jumper from M&S today made me feel a bit better!
(feel better for telling someone - it's been gnawing away all day - thanks)£27k (excluding interest) paid off in 29 months

Oh my God!!! How f***ing rude! How completely and utterly charmless:mad: Well done on your lucky escape! No wonder you hit the clothes rack!
I bloody hate the idiots who think that all single 30 somethings are completely desperate and up for it at any opportunity and it's ok to treat us like that. As if they are doing us a favour and we should be pathetically grateful. They give all the decent men a bad name.
*rant over*

Hey SuSu,
what an @rse - stories like that make me more determined to stay single, cant believe the arrogance Grrrrr0 -
:grouphug: Hi Susu,

That is so awful!!! I hope you tell him (if you ever hear from him again) to take his dinner and shove it up his rear end! It's really depressing meeting men like that.
I met a guy I really liked through my cousin exactly a year ago and he invited himself back to my cousins flat and then asked me for sex! I told him where to go! Haven't met anyone I liked since. He even asked me if I was a virgin at 30 because I wouldn't do anything with him.
It is diseartening, I know how you feel. I'm not surprised you went for a shop.0
