Fingers crossed it's not that as it could be pretty expensive.
I will take it tomorrow so at least I will know for sure, was jumping around very badly on slip road to motorway today:eek:SunderlandBlackCat wrote: »Oh & thanks for Jinxing me - my car misfired a couple of times on the way in.

I'm off round to a mate's tonight, what's the chances she'll have their single male pal "pop in" while I'm there??? this one is actually quite nice but her "subtle" attempts at matchmaking just make me giggle.Mortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hello everyone,
glad you're getting car sorted at the week end Sarah - have been worrying about you all day.
Ossiereo - it may have escaped your notice / you're just being polite but we all whine about the same old things on here
SBC - as far as I'm concerned you can wear any damn colour shoes or fm boots you like; you know stuff about cars = enough said
It's only since I got a newer car that I realise that old one didnt go in a straight line when left to it's own devices & that anyone else driving it would probably crash into the back of others quite regularly as the brakes were definitely an 'acquired skill' .
Sorry guys, would love to stay & chat but am absolutely shattered so going to head for some sleep now but as I dont have any money or men this week end  I'm sure I'll show up again at some point
G'nite xx0 -

That's usually just wheel alignment (tracking) as long as you aren't getting any noises as you turn corners. It's quite easy to knock the tracking out, just a pothole at the wrong angle or pulling up over a small kerb can do it so you might get it on your newer car as well.
Easy & cheap to get sorted at ATS/Kwikfit type places rather than a garage & if you don't get it sorted your tyres wear down a lot quicker so you end up shelling out for tyres & it also uses more fuel.0 -
Oh thanks for the advice SBC.... thats exactly what's wrong with my car but I didn't want to find out what the problem was because I didn't want to have to shell out to get it sorted. What's classed as cheap would you say??

I'm not sure of the pricing because I've never paid to get it done but if its just a re-alignment without any parts being needed it's at most a half hour job so I'd guess at about £20 ish.
All your local tyre places will do it, it doesn't need to be a national chain so ring around & get some quotes.
It's still misfiring but I think its probably because I haven't changed the spark plugs in the 3 years since I got the car

Gosh I don't have any diet tips, I should get my mum on here as she has lost 3 1/2 stone since we started in April vs my very long winded 2 stone. I know if I stuck to it I would have lost a lot more so really I don't have a diet halo
I usually start after weighing on Wednesday with really good intentions .. then by Friday I have really fallen off the wagon .. then on Monday I panick and think C**P I better do something radical and try and claw back enough that I can get away with the earlier food incidents (you know the ones, where you fall face first into a load of really deliscious stuff!)
I am mulling along with the single side of things, decided to stop looking ... figured maybe at some point will get a fat club over the head by some cave man and dragged to a cave for lots of passion
Btw SBC .. besides the shoes, the important question really is the state of your socks
Much love to all xx0 -
Thanks SBC - I did actually know it was the tracking
& it did make funny noises when going round the corner - that was the wheel bearing going going gone, quoted £150 for repair but oh what a surprise then I 'needed' a new drive shaft & clutch oil or something, total cost £230  .
As old car was a banger I frequently used it for ramming kerbs & potholing but have vowed to look after new one much better & actually check the oil more than once a year
.
Sarah - you must learn how to do the tyres - apparently it saves money
.
I must now go & do useful things ....
