Single and in debt.

  • When do you go from being single to not?

Don't know about this either and have had a few conversations about this with my friends after I was seeing a guy for about 4 months but still said that I was single whereas they said that I wasn't. My friend defined it as the moment when you start factoring someone else into decisions/plans etc. I'm still not sure but I am generally quite apprehensive about actually using the words boyfriend/partner/we etc so that probably says more about me!

Well, another rubbish day food wise. Am I the only person here who does this:
    1. nice healthy food shop.
    2. feel hungry
    3. search fridge and cupboards
    4. think "there is nothing nice in here, need cakes, sugar, grease."
    5. get takeaway, sandwich from shop, drive thru etc
    6. feel so angry with myself afterwards
    7. repeat steps 2-6 for the rest of the week.
    8. throw nice healthy food in bin as it has all gone off.
    9. treat myself to something yummy as there is now no food, and anyway, I will be doing a nice healthy food shop tomorrow.
    10. repeat steps 1-9 for rest of life.
  • Erm, Don't really know what I did there  was trying to do that thing where you quote what someone else has written and comment on it! Clearly just ended up copying it.......Whoops. :rotfl:

What I was trying to say SarahB123 you are defo not the only one that does that. I do it every single week.....

You all look like you've been busy! The only assets above the waist comment made me chuckle! Well Done!

Sorry been quiet folks. Errrrrrrrr Diet......yes well, I'll get back to you on that!. However, I have been v good with money. Trying to offset the fact that I have left my passport until the last min and now have to spend twice as much traveling to the passport office.

The single thing has reached an all time low. I must be giving off vibes so desperate that my friend is now keeps joking (but with a serious undertone) that she is concerned that I am after her DAD (he is 50 and divorced, I'm 29) WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!!!!!!!! ......Help!....

I might have been single for a long time but can honestly say I am still looking for someone at least in my own age bracket!!!!!

Anyway, I'm visiting friends as from tomorrow so I'll catch up with you all after the weekend. Hopefully, I will find some gorgeous man over the weekend to introduce to my friend so she can stop worrying that she might have to call me step-mum! So sick!!!!! I've known him since I was 10!!!!!!
  • Sorry, was ranting so much I forgot to wish you all a very nice weekend!!!! x x
  • I've given up on letting finding 'lurve' rule my life. I realised that I was in some sort of holding pattern waiting for life to start and putting too much pressure on myself. I now see that I've got to enjoy myself and be happy NOW and not wait and whatever else happens is a bonus.

Thanks Bayblue, that makes a lot of sense to me as well.

Dating; I have given up on. I don't mean that in a negative way- what I mean is I've given up on letting finding 'lurve' rule my life.

  • evening everyone. I didn't get chance to get online lastnight, ended up at my mates longer than I'd intended.
Anyways...I lost half a lb this week which I'm happy with as I thought I'd put loads on. I've just got to be extra careful this week I guess.
You lot don't have make me laugh, I don't know if its the way I read the posts but I'm often sat here laughin out loud, my neighbours must think I'm crazy.

Sarahb, the 1-10 list you made, that was exactly what I did for years and years and years. I think you just eventually get to a point where ya think 'right this is it, i'm doing it this time' Which to be honest I've thought plenty of times before when dieting but I know this time it's gonna happen. I guess its a bit like our lightbulb moments?? I don't know about you lot but I had months and months of thinking 'right i'm gonna get out of debt' but then you eventually have the one time when it actually begins to happen and you know its gonna carry on.

I dont half ramble on..i'm much worse in person lol

Hope you've all had a good day :)

  • Have finally managed a healthy day, had a vegetable stir fry and a handful of strawberries this evening. (Won't mention the small packet of crisps I had this afternoon.)

Am going to try a no spend day tomorrow, as technically I have all the food I will need in the house. Never quite works out like that though!

  • Wow, there were times when I could have done with a singles support thread while I was in debt.

Although the big advantage I found was that when the opportunities to do extra work & make some extra money I could just make the decision without having to worry about if a girlfriend had planed a surprise for me.

I've been out of debt for 18 months now but I haven't even looked at meeting anyone. I think past experiences have just left me too jaded.
