  • Funny you should be talking about texting, I don't have a mobile (hate them so much and am holding out hope that they are just a fad :D ) and was talking to a friend at work the other day and we pretty much agreed that without one there is no chance that I will ever get a date again. He reckons that all flirting/getting to know someone is conducted via texts these days and that any man asking for my number and being given one that starts 0208 will run away thinking I'm a nutter!

I'm so lucky to have such supportive honest friends to give me a male perspective:rotfl:

    LMAO!!!!

I cannot believe you dont have a mobile..good on ya tho coz once you get one its hard to go without! I must admit I love texting, I think thats what I miss most about my ex.

OMG.... less than an hour till I get weighed, I'm not feeling confident atall !!! I'll update as soon as I can but I know I'll not be on till late tonite, off round my friends for a girlie chat.. her and her fella have just split up so plenty to talk about..you know how it is!!

Hope you've all had a good day

Yargo1, hope you have a good evening whatever you decide to do!!

    Evening everyone,

Hmm as far as the diet is concerned all I can say is oink oink oink, think I must be on the pig diet - see it eat it :o :
1 slice wholemeal toast + marmite for breakfast,
1 bowl fruit n fibre for 2nd breakfast
1 peanut butter(wholemeal) sarnie for lunch
1 slice peanut butter on toast for 'tea'
1 bowl cheerios for 2nd tea
1 bowl pasta + tomato & cheese sauce for supper
    1tiny bowl butterscotch ice cream

OMG I am a PEEEG

Going to have a houseful of kitchen blokies ( fitters not chefs thank goodness) for 2 weeks as of monday so thankfully wont be able to eat so much.

Is it terribly Freudian that each time I type wholemeal it comes out as wholemale

Oh & I've just had a baileys too

At this rate DD will be sitting on me & bouncing around, having confused me with the gym ball

  • Well, another rubbish day food wise. Am I the only person here who does this:
    1. nice healthy food shop.
    2. feel hungry
    3. search fridge and cupboards
    4. think "there is nothing nice in here, need cakes, sugar, grease."
    5. get takeaway, sandwich from shop, drive thru etc
    6. feel so angry with myself afterwards
    7. repeat steps 2-6 for the rest of the week.
    8. throw nice healthy food in bin as it has all gone off.
    9. treat myself to something yummy as there is now no food, and anyway, I will be doing a nice healthy food shop tomorrow.
    10. repeat steps 1-9 for rest of life.

Am so lazy! I really need to get a grip here. I am not hugely overweight, but I am overweight, and it shows. Am so impatient. Always want everything now, now, now. "What? I haven't lost 4lbs today? This diet is rubbish! I had better have a cake to treat myself, at least I tried, I even had some lettuce, there is obviously no way to do this, so may as well give in." Have got to get myself out of this cycle!

    Will try again tomorrow.:embarasse

No you're not the only one Sarah, I do that too. I think that living alone makes things worse because there's no one to stop me eating naughty things or to comment on it. I'm definitely better when I stay away from home.

I don't know the answer, I've kind of stopped dieting because I've found that they don't work for me and I try not to buy food simply because it's 'healthy' if it's stuff that I know that I'm not going to really enjoy eating and end up throwing away. That's been especially important since I became a DFW.

It's all about a change in attitude I suppose, I might try hypnotism (no really!). I wonder how I could do that in a DFW way?
  • You're definitely right about not having anyone to stop you eating naughty things! I have a fridge stocked with fresh fish and salad, have just sneaked into my room to eat a sausage roll. Ridiculous! I will start again tomorrow as usual. I think if you have a healthy breakfast it is easier, as you don't want to undo your good work. Unhealthy breakfast = may as well give up for today.

I have always thought hypnotism seems a good idea, I don't think I eat because I am hungry, I eat because I'm bored, tired, lonely, frustrated etc. Would be very interested to hear of a DFW way to do it! I spend far too much on food because I go shopping and also end up bying lots of food during the week. Am constantly amazed by the people on here who do meal planning and can stick to it, don't think I have ever planned a meal in my entire life!

Meal planning is good and it works. I do it...well I don't write anything down as such, just sort of plan things in my head. It has definitely saved me money, if not lost me any weight! I also try to clear the cupboards and the freezer now and then.

I agree totally about breakfast. I have eaten all bran with sultanas every day since I did the GI diet, it stops me eating cakes and biscuits...till at least lunchtime anyway :o .
  • Thanks Bayblue. I am trying the low carb diet, which is a bit like GI I think, so will try scrambled eggs for breakfast, minus the toast. I do think breakfast is half the battle, and the other half is trying to avoid wine in the evenings. Have failed at that one today as well! Will just try to get the breakfast right tomorrow, the rest should be easier from there. I do actually meal plan in my head, just never translates to on the plate. I do not know how people who have to plan for families manage!

Right. I can still lose a pound by Sunday, and to be honest, I havent eaten loads, but what I have eaten is rubbish. I am going to report here in the morning, will motivate me how to do it.
