    Absolutely Sarah,

I mean ...german, sexy, flirtatious . I too started off with ideas of CVs & the like hence the social science but 1 - it is soooo boring, 2 - it is sooo boring & 3 - whoever pulled with a line like : what do you think of the current trends in social stratification in the inner cities ?

I'm glad to have helped set you back on the right track.

You also need to think about the type of person who you will be studying with, I repeat... german, sexy flirtatious
  • It runs from November to May or May to November.

I noticed some people on here took it last year & decided to start with it as hopefully it will be fairly familiar ground to a MSE & it only takes 1 more 30 point unit to get a Certificate in Business Studies :D

    Best of luck to you,

I think the 30 point courses are manageable time wise, but I really struggled with 60 point ( about 16 hrs study a week) course last time so withdrew rather than do badly, I dont think it helped that I found it so boring though.

Any tips to help us out with debt busting will be much appreciated ;) .

    Bed time for me now,
    buenos noches

Ooh, where do you find out about OU courses?
    And are they expensive?
I'd love to do something- if they aren't too difficult, and they are afforadble of course!

Anyway, night night to all single DFWs- Good luck with the dieting, dating and (most importantly ;) ) money saving on Friday.

    http://www.open.ac.uk

Price depends on the course but there are financial assistance schemes & you can pay with Tesco clubcard deals

There are also free courses at http://www.open.ac.uk/openlearn/home.php?ONBAN=OS001&MEDIA=openlearn
  • oh another dieting tip

Make fruit salad (good if like me you buy fruit and end up chucking it as you don't get around to eating it!) basically chop up what you want (usually do pineapple, pear, apple and oranges as they last the longest) and pop it in a tub with diet lemonade as the juice and just grab some when you feel like a sweet snack!

According to statistics, single women live a lot longer than married women :p so to all those lovely lassies out there who are single (some with a cat!- much better than a man most days lol) rejoice - you'll live longer than me (married 21 years = stress arghhhhhhh) and hey! cats make great companions and they give you a cuddle when you want a cuddle lol

Seriously, I've enjoyed reading this thread...:T

  • Hello everyone - we all seem to be a bit perkier - is that because it's Friday?? I've been pretty good with my eating this week - stuck to fish and stir fry veg. Going out this evening for some drinks with the girls but determined to stick to vodka and slimline tonic rather than throwing wine down my throat! My exciting news is that I've got a job interview lined up for next week - figured one way to tackle the debt was to get a job that pays a bit better.

I was thinking about doing an evening course in Spanish but maybe the OU would be better - a bit more flexible...hmmm going to look into it! Thanks for the idea!
