Single and in debt.

Ooh a singles thread :j sorry I'm late to the 'party' but I've only just remembered you're all here.
Anyway, I'm another DFW singleton. I'm doing Okish on the debts front, and TBH the single bit doesn't bother me..except having to do it all by myself, that's the bit which I hate. Pay this, organise that, arrange something else and there's no one to treat me or to lean on when things get tough.
The other aspect (well -moan really) is that living alone costs more than living as a couple or as a family. And yeah I know that people could say that's it's my choice, but then again I can hardly go an kidnap some random man to live and pay the bills with. Also, I don't like the way that the news reparts talk about 'families' suffering in the credit crunch or with higher fuel prices. Er..last time I checked we're ALL bloomin suffering!
/end of Victor Meldrew style ranting!
Apart from all that I'm happy enough soul really0 -
Oops! Have been trying to keep to my healthy eating, but seriously cheated today. Have been doing ok otherwise, so am still hoping for a 1lb loss this week.
I am getting a bit obsessed with debt busting at the moment! I so want to meet the £10 a day in September challenge, not going too well today, but have fingers crossed for overtime payments which will help. I will pay off my debts! I will get my own home! Once I get out of this mess I will stay out of it!
Saw a lovely bag today and resisted. Not like me at all. I do not need another lovely bag. I do want another lovely bag though. Actually left a bookshop today without making a purchase! Unheard of! Don't know if I will ever get the hang of a no spend day, but am managing to rein myself in a little better.
Lots of little steps, wish I wasn't so impatient though! I want everything now! Have learned I cannot do it like that though, so am quite pleased with my little successes this week.

Oh, that is the part I really hate! Can cope with all the rest of being single, although I don't exactly enjoy it, but I miss that aspect.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0 -

Well done on the debts thing! Focus on one thing at a time, that's the way to get things done :T
As for the bag... firstly, well done for resisting! Secondly, here's an idea that might help. If you get that 'Want want want new bag!' feeling, maybe when you get home, go through all the bags and things you already have? If you're anything like me, you'll go through that pile and find gems you'd forgotten you had. Almost as good as getting a new one, but much cheaper!0 -
thank you for people responses to my first post. I did try and put in a new thread as advised however i cant seem to find the thread to see if I got any replies. I am new to this forum and could have fluffed the original sending of thread however I was sure it did go through. I have thought about the experian credit check however when I fill in my details for the free 30 day trial it wants my current bank account details, which I dont have , so have to abort the process/request.
I am feeling more confident about tackling my debt issues as, I have always been employable, so have the means to make payments.
leaving relationships have always been my down fall because all I ever leave with is debt.
I have applied for a basic bank account again, online. fingers crossed.0 -
Hi Keller - if you go to the search box at the top right of this page and type in Keller and mark the forum search facility it will find your thread - just did it and you've had two replies already - good luck!0

Thanks Ytaya, have had a look through bags today, you are right I had more than I thought! I have decided to wait until the end of the month (payday!) and see how much I have been paid for my overtime, if I still want the bag then, and I meet my £300 for the month target, I might treat myself as it was only £10. Will be good motivation for me.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0
