  • Nah thanks Buffy, WWs not for me. But I'm feeling all positive and my heart is aching (in a good way!). I've just watched "the notebook". It's not my usual sort of film but it was perfect for a rainy saturday night. And then I went on a full on romantic film (Princess Bride & Atonement) extravaganza. So now I want to be in love, the sort of love where I can't breathe (sounding a bit mills and booney there for a minute - sorry about that!).

I'm sure it will pass but for the moment I'm glad that I've had a fair few moments of being madly in love and I feel all hopefull for the future (thats what good films do to me!). So, it's off with the weight, on with the lippy and start living life!

Anyway, I'm off to find a photo of Ryan Gosling for my screensaver - that's not sad behaviour for a 35 year old is it? (that is a retorical question, I DONT want answers!! :rotfl: ).

La La La..... So sorry, this is such an odd ramble, and odd after only a few weeks and posts that it was you guys that i wanted to ramble to! Thanks.

SarahB your bank made me all mad0260.gifHope you got it sorted in the end! My dieting has been a disaster. Managed to put on weight last 2 weeks and it doesn't seem to have fared any better this week as mum bought lots of food for DS birthday which is all just sitting here now torturing me! (as I type with a gruyere cheese twist in hand!)

RosaB, may have been me poking you onto OKCupid as that's where I met the Scot, so glad you are enjoying it even if it means you are missing some sleep ;)

DollyD, I can't think of a better place to ramble! I haven't watched a good romance film for ages so you have inspired me to do so!

Buffy, bacon sandwich .. perfect! Hmm no bread, think it will have to be a bacon omlette instead! Yummy Mmmmmm

Hope I havent scared you off Roxy :p :rotfl:

Have a fantastic day everyone xxx

  • Hi,

Just wanted to pop in and offer my encouragement! It makes it harder that you can't afford to go out and socialise so being single seems so much worse when your sat in on your own!!! Completely, know how you feel!!

However, I think we are single for a good reason and right now, honestly, I wouldn't like a partner. I want to come through this on my own to know that I can do it. Small comfort but until I am happy with my life it doesn't feel right letting anyone else in. Does that sound stupid????

Anyway, really admire how you are doing this on your own and not falling into someones arms for the sake of it.

    Keep up the good work!

    Hi everyone,

Ossireo - I love that smilie :rotfl:

Buffy - mmmm bacon sandwich * salivates dreamily * :o

Well, I really need to have a strict word with myself before diet begins, I was talking on the phone, only for about 20 minutes & when I hung up I looked down & there was a pile of crumbs & the biscuit box was open  I have no idea how that happend or how many of the little critters escaped & jumped down my throat while I was talking

Can someone techie do a list of us lbs free wannabes & how much we want to lose, then we could have a weekly weigh in & (gulp) publish the results ?

What do you think - public results could be a big motivator ?

    lula x

Hello all, I have never posted before but I am a long time lurker on this site. I hope it's okay to join in here, you all seem like such a friendly bunch. I don't have an enormous amount of debt now as I have worked very hard over the last few years to clear it so I can begin saving for a deposit. I am now 36 and hoping to be debt free in the next couple of years, so looking to get a house before I'm 40. My problem is that I am single, and I have always found that to be one of the most difficult things to cope with over the past few years whilst being in debt, not having anyone to share my worries with. Another problem being of course that I am having to do it all myself, pay bills, rent etc with just one salary coming in, it has been a very lonely journey at times. I am feeling okay at the moment and I can see light at the end of the tunnel, but I seem to have been struggling with this by myself forever! I was wondering if there is anyone in the same situation who has any tips and/or moral support? Thanks in advance.

    Sarahb,, well done.
you've put words to exactly how i feel, I'm 31, single, with 3 kids and yes, struggling makes time go slower. I've been off state benifit for 3 months having going self employed but am thinking I'll need a p/t job somewhere, to have regular income.

i want to share this with you, and if its in the other posts i apologise, ive only read the first one!!
AT THIS POINT - you are coping with things yourself, look forward, look at how strong its making you, and how much you future relationship will benefit because you will be authentic in it, cos you'll know that you can take care of yourself.
:T big round of applause for you sarahb
