i have sometimes taken in food and drinks to the cinema in my handbag!
the last time though as we were passing the man who takes the tickets dd said really loudly.. 'MUM, WHAT IF HE SEE'S THE FOOD YOU'VE HIDDEN IN YOUR BAG'
the guy then told us we couldn't go in.. even if we took the food out..
i did make a fuss, the kids were so upset, and he let us in (with the food?) and told us not to do it again!£608.98

A cinema isn't a public service or a charity, they need to make money. With all the two for one deals, free tickets and so forth I'm not surprised they have to charge more on the food. As for them banning outside food, I'd say they're within their rights.

Yes, but this is a money saving site, so we're going to bend as many rules as we can (and share ideas!) to save a buck to twoand if sneaking food in my handbag means that I don't have to fork out for £2 bags of sweets for my three children.....then sneak I will!

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Just don't do what the creepy bloke who sat behind me during Silence of the Lamb's did. He munched, slurped and generally made disgusting noises eating what seemed to be an endless supply of overripe juicy peaches!!! Was very bizzarre.Booo!!!0

I very rarely get to go to the cinema any more (having young kids and not many babysitters) anyhow, If I do go it is a bit of a treat, at our Vue cinema they do a kids pack that includes a drink, a small popcorn and some sweets for £2.50 which I don't think is bad (especially as I had got free tickets to see Wall-e, which ds loved)
I agree with most of you, I think it is ok to take in maybe a drink and a few sweets, but I do see that the cinema has to try to make a buck..also was at Legoland last week and even though I took a picnic I was still putting my hand in my purse all day for stuff that they lure you with all over the place...Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

Are there any good deals at Cineworld, we don't have a Vue or Odeon anywhere near and I am not an Orange customer!
We went to see WallE at Cineworld - tickets for 4 booked online was £28!!!! and £5.50 for one large and one small drink. kids then drank too much coke and felt sick. they search bags so you cant take in much, DH smuggled in a bag of minstrels in his trouser pocket.
I remember when gonig to the cinema was a (relatively) cheap treat but it has gone mad recently.0 -
