Just don't do what the creepy bloke who sat behind me during Silence of the Lamb's did. He munched, slurped and generally made disgusting noises eating what seemed to be an endless supply of overripe juicy peaches!!! Was very bizzarre.
UGH! Did he also have a bottle of nice Chianti?! :rotfl:A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

a burger or a kebab would be taking it too far, though the argument that hot food creates unpleasant smell doesnt carry much weight, as they sell their own food.. oh hold on though- theirs is hardly hot!
sandwich/drinks discreetly hidden in shoulder bag etc shoudn't cause probs o reckon.
totally agree though about general prices in cinema - snacks and tickets are way OTT, and you dont even get tokeep the film, like whe you buy the DVD!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

Why do people feel the need to eat at the cinema?
I go to watch a film, not to eat junk food and sweets, and sometimes all the munching that goes on can be quite irritating. It looks like people are having a whole meal there: jumbo size cola, nachos and huge cartons of popcorn.
Why can't people just seat there and watch the film?0 -
On the subject of Orange Wednesdays (someone earlier mentioned they weren't on Orange), I was wondering, because my maths isn't particularly great, if you were a regular cinema goer whether it would be worth getting a really cheap PAYG mobile on Orange (WH Smith do one for £14.99) to use just to get the bogof's on a Wednesday. With cinema prices more than £5 each, it wouldn't take you long to recoup your money.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
i take a back pack full of food, iv never been told anything.
maybe people working there, dont care about it.

I paid £20 to take my 5 year old to wotch kung fu panda last week so to stop you taking your own refreshments i think is a liberty. the fact is the cinema industry knows its a very dying trade and its only a matter of time before they are all having flats built on their plots just like the pubs and petrol garages here in London. i suppose you cant blame them for trying to milk the public dry until the fateful day comes. Until then just sneak things in in a bag i say haha!0

Perhaps you could just get a PAYG Sim card and use that in your normal mobile phone to send and recieve the text.0 -

I notice the cinemas here have been putting up notices telling customers not to bring in their own food and drink. On Saturday I watched a family pay £11.50 for four small bottles of pop and a bag of sweets at one of the cinemas. Extortionate pricing in my opinion.
I do think this is unfair - particularly for families who have already paid maybe £20 - £30 and possibly more than that just to see a film.
Is this ban by cinemas actually legal? Surely anti-competitive? What powers does a cinema employee have to search your bags?
next you'll want to take your own spirits into a bar because they are so expensive there :eek:0
