  • This was confirmed in March 2009 . Shouldnt they be made to uphold there decision?

Especially as they sent conflicting letters.I have now sent the information to the FO.Hop that I dont have to fill in the forms again

If they made you no offer in pounds and pence but merely indicated they would make an offer then no they do not have uphold that decision since the letter being wrongly sent out was the issue and not the offer. Furthermore, yes you should complete a new income and expenditure form because if your situation has remained the same then I do not expect the FOS to change their decision on the outcome ie that the case remains on hold.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

  • I need some help with claiming back my bank charges, I'v done every thing that this site have said to do such as write letters, send spreadsheet with charges, sent hardship letter (im on disibilty benefit) and as of last month was still be charged intrest.
Now I have received a letter from METROPOLITAN COLLECTION SERVICES LIMITED asking for full payment with in 7 days amount of £1.131.51

The bank that I did bank with was HSBC, I really don't know what to do so could you please advise me.
  • I am dealing with Metropolitan at the moment and sent them a letter to say that the account was under dispute and would be settled when the charges were returned.

I sent a copy of my claim/letters and said that I would refer them to FOalso that their behaviour consitutes harrasment as the a account is with HSBC as a complaint.

I have sent a copy of correspondence to FO & Metropolitan on the 24th September.

I have heard nothing else from them lets hope it stays that way.

Your post yesterday said that it was NatWest so I am very confused at the moment. Which bank or is it banks are we dealing with?

It does, I was reading your post and didn't check the post previous to yours :o

Can I clarify that the charges you are reclaiming from HSBC are higher than the amount they are asking for repayment?

  • I wouldn't take out your frustration on the FOS because if the argument you went to them with was that it was not enough it isn't arguing how the charges put you in financial hardship and that is the argument you need to go with. Remember, the FSA Waiver on Bank Charges does not mean that the bank have to or will refund 100% of the charges, in fact, they do not have to refund even 1p of the charges but they can suspend charges and they can increase an overdraft to comply with the waiver. I think you need to ask the FOS to look at the fact that the offer is swallowed up by new charges and seek either increase in the offer or an offer that gives 3 months without charges to allow you to get back on your feet.

i know what you are saying , i have told them the offer i got will be taken by charges , i just feel the fo are taking the easiest option and agreeing with the bank , i know they are real busy but i thought they were there to help, and i feel they havent really helped me atall and just dragged things out even longer. its soooooo annoying to read on here the amount of people getting there charges back and i dont seam to be getting anywhere , any1 in my situation probs feels the same and the people not in the same situation dont really have a clue how annoying this really in now .

i hope i can say one day "thanks :money: for helping me get my charges back" but really dont see any chance of that :(
