Hi not written on here for a while, i sent claim in under hardship and got told that they dont think i am. Any way got a letter on Friday about mortgage saying that a defult notice has been given and its in frist stages of going to court for repossession. At my wits end now Halifax owe me nearly 5500.00 in charges and this would pay my arrears off and i wouldnt hopefully lose my house. Should i send a copy of this letter form the solicitors acting for my mortgage to halifax to see if they will change their mind , im not wanting money for holiday or any thing like that and i would be happy for them to send the money straight to my mortgage company. Pls advise anyone x0

Hi yes its the only bank account ive got and still charging me when needed. What do you think my chances are x
Have you spoken to the mortgage company to see if they can lower your payments or is this not possible?0 -

Hi we have a pending claim with Halifax for just under £4000. We originally went through financial hardship, but they declined and the FSO agreed with them. So we have just put this to the side for now and we'll wait for the courts.
However, I have since received the utility bills for my flat (which is rented out now) for when I was in there. They total about £1500 going back to March 2007, so are arrears. I have set up a payment plan with the two providers as we cannot afford to pay these in full.
We didn't receive these bills previously as both companies kept ensuring me my property did not exist!! I complained to one and got £30 off a £300 bill (water) and have yet to write a letter of complaint to EDF for the electricity.
Am i right in believing these are priority arrears and are taken into consideration when making a claim? Can I update Halifax and ask them to review my case under the hardship rules or am I wasting my time?
Also we have just incurred a further £133 in charges from them - can I add this to the claim - how do I go about doing this?
Sorry just everything is starting to get to me now!0 -

However, saying that, I always say that you need to ask the question since ultimately the bank will either say YES or NO.0 -

Thanks we are paying them, but we can't really afford to - we are having to cut back on things liek food - surely that shouldn't be compromised?!0 -
I've had an ongoing claim with NatWest for nearly 12 months. I've gone down the hardship route after loosing my job, moving back in with parents due to no cash for rent and now both parents out of work due to terminal illness with one parent.
Completed the NATWest financial statement and supplied photocopies of all relevant documents to support my claim. I was not surpprised that they then rejected my calim and stated that I was not considered to be in financial hardship.
The Financial Ombudsman are now involved and have written to the bank, who have stated that they haven't received the documents or info they requested. I've since supplied FOMB with copy of the docs sent to NatWest and also proof of delivery as all letters went recorded delivery. However Natwest are still denying receipt and refuse to acknowledge hardship. What an absolute joke they are. I think you need to be walking around the streets waring a bin bag before they will acknowledge hardship, even after I have ticked all the boxes on the FOMB criteria list.
They can help themselves to your money illegally, but it's a whole different story when you ask for it back.0 -
can't find how to post a new quote!! i claimed for £5716.09 from lloyds tsb on the 8th july 2007. i have since fell into financial hardship - they have just kept saying no. not even asked for a breakdown of debts / outgoings. i am about to register this with the fos. how would i work out the interest on this since 2007? x0
