Bank Charges Financial Hardship Disussion

My parents went into Natwest today to withdraw their refunded money and the bank are refusing to release the funds. They have a loan with bank which they pay via debt company. They are not overdrawn in this account, are in hardship & the charges are what caused the financial difficulties in the first place??0

I bank with HSBC and although my bank charges are so small as to be negligible (compared with others on the site) they are important to me as a broke full time student. I have used the letter template with financial hardship to request a refund. My question is which who do I write to, the head office or the branch I have that account with? I already looked on the HSBC site and i'm not sure whether the information there is relevant to my enquiry.
Thanks0 -

Is this their only bank account?0 -

At the beginning of August I commenced a claim against HSBC for around £3000 pounds for 2 accounts. I have pretty muched followed Martin's advice to the letter, altering where needed for my own case. With no real success has such, and know may have come up against a brick wall.
I have found my self in a real bad finacial situ over last year due to illness, losing my job, home and relationship, in the end having to move away from my kids to my mothers to deal with illness firstly then money secondly. So when I heard about this possibilty of reclaiming charges I hoped it would be a way of helping me to move on. Gladly I feel well now and even happier to have been doing something postive for a change.
Anyway to be fair HSBC they have been very good at providing me with info and very polite if restrained in there help. I followed the process through the bank having no joy other than a £150 good will payment. While they tried to deny my hardship. So I went to FOS has advised, getting handled very quickly though to a adjudicater, again who has been most helpful. While still recieving weekly letters backwards and forwards from HSBC.
The adjudicater agreed I was in hardship, and the bank denied they had been fully aware of my problems. Rubbish obviuosly has I had provided them with full discloser of my debts immediately. So now with help of FOS they have offered another £250 good will payment and to pay a £600 pound debt off. But now have Citizen advice dealing with debts (non bank linked), so feel this is not helping my hardship. But the adjudicater has no ability to force the bank to do more, although agrees with my situ has the FOS is unable to make a judgement in full until after court ruling.
So I have accept £250 good will payment, and refused £600 final payment. But now have no idea where to go now. Cant afford court case with no results probable. Anyone any ideas or help. Thanks0 -

Sorry, hang on, why are you refusing the £600.00? What does the £600.00 pay off?
Any offers are only in relation to financial hardship and not in full and final settlement of the whole claim. Furthermore, if you have credit cards/store card and/or catalogue charges(including the £12.00 ones) then start reclaiming them as well.,0 -
There seems to be a pattern forming here. We wrote to HSBC in Feb in order to claim back my partners bank charges to no avail as were already put on hold. At that point while the money would have been nice, we weren't exactly in financial difficulty. Now, however, my partner has been temporarily laid off with no income until his company decide whether or not to give redundancy or reinstate him should they find work. I'm due to have a baby in 5 weeks and will be receiving smp of £400 a month. Therefore at present, we consider ourselves in financial hardship as he has a loan with HSBC, is permanently in a £1500 overdraft and going over it incurring more charges and now has no money coming in at all. We wrote a second time to HSBC who wrote back and said they don't have to offer money back concerning financial hardship, it's merely a form of goodwill! They suggested we telephone to discuss our problems. That letter was dated 28th Sept and we received it two days later, we then received another letter dated 5th Oct, received on the 7th, saying it had been nearly a month(?) since they had written and they had not heard anything from us so we weren't deemed to be suffering!!! My partner immediately rang them and they promised to call back-that was last wednesday and still no word! Isn't it this month the courts decide anyway? I hope it comes back in our favour as I would love to send a gloating reply! Meanwhile I have no idea how we're going to pay this month's bills or afford a new born baby. Anyone had success with HSBC?0

I have recently put in a claim for my bank charges bank from RBS for £1854 on the grounds of financial hardship. I am in financial difficulties like millions of others. Their response this morning is to ask for an income and expenditure form to be completed - which I had already sent and a threat that if I proceed with this claim, my Royalties Gold Account will be closed, my overdraft withdrawn and my debit card cancelled. I thought this was not done now. Any advice ? This will make my circumstances and my life far more difficult and I guess they know this!!:mad:0

Read this post which has the details and furthermore have a completed Income and expenditure form in front of you. I think you may have a case,
Do you have priority debt arrears(mortgage.rent, council tax, utilities)?0 -
