Amount claimed: £1800
Amount received (so far): £250
Hello all,
Just a quick update to inspire those of you chasing HSBC for your charges. I've just received £250 from them straight into my bank account after submitting a claim. :j
I sent my first letter at the end of April, and received the money a couple of days ago. Admittedly, this could have been sped up considerably if I'd replied to their letters more qucikly than I did (3-4 week delay each time); they, on the other hand, always came back to me within the 14 days, as I had requested.
You're probably wondering why I'm not really angry that I haven't been given the full amount. Well, firstly, I am angry actually, but I have asked them to reassess my claim, taking into account evidence of my priority arreas whcih total £1600. I sent this back along with the acceptance form for the £250, but as yet, I haven't received anything in response, just the £250 into my account. At the end of the day, every little bit helps, and this money means that I've managed to not exceed my o/d this month, therefore not inccurring any charges next month.:j
Whilst I do still have priority debts to clear, I already know now that I'm going to have over £100 extra next month to put towards them, as I won't have any charges, so it's a step in the right direction. My complaint is also with the Ombudsman, so fingers crossed HSBC do the right thing and send me the rest!
Good luck to the rest of you, will keep you posted on the outstanding £1550 refund!
Natski
P.s. Thanks to Natweststaffmember who gave sound advice! :T
I think I might class this as a success  so I am :j for you.
We will see what they say as a final response and work on it. I knew I liked your username for some reason0 -

I have a claim with Alliance & Leicester going back two years.
My circumstances ahve now changed and I sent them a letter claiming financial hardship.
They sent me an Income and expenditure form which I completed and returned they sent it back asking for more information and I wrote back accusing them of delaying tactics.
I heard nothing further from them but they then refunded charges goung back to October 2008.
I then sent them your template letter to claim Finacial Hardship on 18th June. They sent me another Income and Expenditure form!! I wrote again to say I'd already completed this, they then sent copies of statements going back to 2003 with no explanation why.
I have had another complaint with them which goes back to March 2008 and has not been resolved.
What should be my next step?
I'd be grate ful for any advice.0 -
hi
im new to this forum but have been reading up for weeks. I am claiming against halifax for bank charges, got list of charges which equate to 3710.00 plus 1344.56 interest. sent first letter off and got a reply quite quickly but saying that they acknowledge that i indicated that i am experiencing financial difficulties, they sent me a CFS to fill out which i have done. i have arrears on mortgage and council tax, got another bailiffs letter on 7th for another 1400.00 which i cant pay. I am making myself ill over it all. just wondered should i give them a ring and see how things are going.0 -
some one please help have just phoned halifax and they said are dealng with it how they should this is not helping my own state of mind at mo and wonder if letter from doctor would help as i am not coping with things at all x x x0

Fill in the form and give them the information. They have every right to ask for additional information with regards to financial hardship. If you see my signature, there is a link to the FSA Waiver and Annex 2 point 6 states that if you do not provide sufficient information for them to assess you then they can decline your financial hardship element of your claim.0 -

Is the bailiff letter new or has a copy been sent to Halifax?0
