Bleeding in pregnancy

So sorry to have read this thread. Dippychick - whichever way it goes hope it is OK.
I have had one miscarriage and then have the liver type bleeding when DS was 24 weeks in. Very scary and I had to keep going to hospital for 48 hour bed rest. Placenta praevia (sp?) slight. DD had early spotting and bleeding with DGS2 and DGS3 and at one point we thought we might have to cancel her wedding when expecting one of them early stages!
Please take care and love to you and your family.

I have my fingers crossed that your dates are just wrong. Last month I had a missed miscarriage, started bleeding at 11-12 weeks and went for an early scan it showed baby had stopped growing at 8-9 weeks. Waiting would be the worst thing so I hope you find out soon so you can move on either way. Similar to yourself I already have 2 and realise how much worse I would feel if it had been my first but it is still really sad to lose a child you had planned to have and made arrangements for etc0

Dippy,
Re your cyst. I went through fertility treatment and had regular scans. At my first scan it showed a large cyst on one ovary. They didn't seem unduly worried and I had been told years before by a specialist that I had a tendency to cysts which interfered with hormone production and caused heavy irregular bleeding (I know what you mean by liver slices - first happened to me age 15) and pain. The cysts are usually caused by your ovary trying to ovulate and getting stuck before releasing the egg. Fluid gathers and often they just pop the following month.
They are common during pregnancy when hormone levels are changing.
My cousin had a scan at 10 weeks pregnant and they found a cyst the size of a grapefruit on one ovary. They operated at 12 weeks to remove cyst and she carried full term.
Hope everything turns out well for you. Take care xx~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Yes it's a horrible feeling, sorry for you loss
I know my dates are right. I am certain about that, for once in my life I am certain because I was out that night and I don't get out much. That is when I came on.
For this baby to be only 6 weeks old it would mean that it was conceived 6 weeks after my last period - so I was already two weeks late. Maybe almost 3 weeks.
That just can't be right.
My husband says he thinks its a miscarriage because the dates can't add up.:cool:0 -

When did you do a pregnancy test?~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I dont want to give you false hope.
However I had the exact same situation. I was told it is called a blighted ovum (when the baby stops growing but the sack remains) I had a vaginal scan on the day my D+C was due and they found a heart beat (not visable on a normal scan) it turned out I was 4 weeks less pregnant than my dates, I must have literally concieved a day or so before my test. My DD is 5 now, and I thank the overcautious scan lady every day in my head!
I really hope this turns out the best for you and your family, I understand why you dont want to invest hope now just to go through this again next week, but please keep your self resting and calm, either way you need to be lookimg after you.
Huge t'internet hugs xxxxx0 -

God I bet you do.. what a huge reliefI would be thanking her every day myself
It is good that they didn't just say to me today, right we will give you a D&C which means I suppose they are being cautious. Who knows. It may well be all ok next week.
Is D&C done under General Anaesthetic ?:cool:0 -

Of course it is hon....but please don't be worrying about stuff like this right now.
Just take things easy over the next few days (well as easy as you can with three children!) and wait for your scan.
I've had bleeding with previous pregnanices, one time it was bad news, and one time it wasn't. There is no telling, but to be worrying about stuff that's not even happened for definite is just going to do your head in."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

I am expecting the worst but would like to know of anyone else who has experienced this. I don't know, perhaps I do want to know it wil be OK. I've had a little cry. It's upsetting either way, especially bleeding without explanation.
She saw a cyst on my ovary and said its not necessarily a bad thing so as soon as i know whats happening with this pregnancy I am going to get a smear done.
mine died at 6 weeks, and didn't come away was not allowed a scan till 12 weeks, i knew then what had happened
fingers crossed for youLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
