When I had a scan at about 5 weeks for unexplained bleeding with DD2 they could see a heartbeat. The sonographer said it was borderline whether or not she would be able to see it.
(((((hugs)))))
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - pleaseGIVE BLOOD

Hi
Just wanted to say - Hugs - I am not an expert but after a quick look online it seems that only half on pregnacies scanned at this stage (6 week stage) will show a heartbeat and so you shouldn't worry too much about that. Hope everything works out for you!Children need love, especially when they don't deserve it!0 -
((HUGS)) to you.
I said 16 weeks and they said no you are not. I am saying, yes I am, I am, my doctor told me and they said no you are only 5 weeks 4 days
I took my pregnancy test really early and I went to a family planning clinic, they said it was only very slightly grainy? (the test) but as it had changed I was pregnant. My doctor gave me 15th or 16th of August for EDD and I gave birth on 1st October!
So I was pregnant before I was IYSWIM, by over 10 weeks, I am not trying to build your hopes up, but stranger things have happened.I don't get this specialk?! to be only 5 weeks and 4 days pg you must have concieved roughly 3 weeks and 4 days previously so if the pg test you took was positive 10 weeks before that and you thought you were 16 weeks then surely you must have miscarried then concieved again?
It's not possible for the pg test to show positive before you have actually concieved is it or am I missing something? - prob knowing me!0 -

Sorry, forgot to say, no they couldn't. This is why she wanted a second opinion.
xxx:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.
If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.

I have no idea tbh, I was never toldI went two weeks over and had to be started of, well was due to be induced on a Monday morning but went myself early hours Saturday into Sunday.
DS was very hairy when born  it did all fall off, isn't this a sign of being 'overcooked'?
Like I say, I was never told why my dates were so out, so I can't really give a definate answer?:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.

My SIL suffered two miscarriages before giving me my 18 month old niece. She had a miscarriage a few months ago and has conceived again. Because of her history she was given a 'piece of mind scan'. This was at about 6 weeks and there was no heartbeat, she is now 20 weeks and all is well.

Hmmm
I don't want to think I could possibly still be pregnant because I don't want to go through this again in 9 days when I have another scan.
I would rather think the worst now. She did say that not seeing a heartbeat at this stage would not be a worry usually, but going off my period dates. It is.:cool:0 -

I saw a heartbeat at my 6 week scan.
<hugs>The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
I was scanned at 5 and a half weeks with number 2 because they weren't sure of dates, and they couldn't see a heartbeat at that stage. I had to go back 2 weeks later, when it was clearly visible. With scans this early on, I think its difficult to be categoric as to when the heartbeat will be visible - just as later on in the pregnancy the date when the heartbeat can be heard with a doppler can also vary by a few weeks.
Fingers crossed for you Dippychick.0 -

Thanks Nikki.
I'm not used to scans this early and I wasn't being talked to like usual, so I knew there was something wrong.
It's either a 6 week old baby, which will be 7 weeks next week or its a miscarriage.
Either way I am fine, I have three little ones and just feel for the people who go through this regularly and never get a chance to have a baby. I couldn't handle it.:cool:0
