    Thanks for the advice Lil_me.

The dog went a bit mad at the rabbit and guinea pig when he slipped in through the back door so i have them moved to a pig house down in the yard where i know he can't get at them and they'll have a bit of quite, the woman before didn't have any children and my lot are crazy at the best of times. Pig house had to be cleaned out not great in this kind of weather but it's all done now and some tin put on the main door to stop the dog trying to get through.

Had my sister and her fella up DS2 got ruined and DS1 is not happy:rotfl: always the way, eventho it's his birthday in a couple of weeks.

Waiting now on hubby to get ready and we're away out for the afternoon and then he's away later so i'll get the flying done then.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

I've done it Dusty - I used my foodprocessor to make a quick chocolate cake which I cooked in the microwave, and it's now just cooling on the side. The foodprocessor is all over the kitchen, including the plastic bags and bits of cardboard used to pad out the box, so I'll have to clear that all up before OH comes home at 4.30pm. At least he'll have a nice suprise, as he didn't know I'd be making it. Now the question is, do I make chocolate butter icing to go in the middle, or do I use strawberry jam, and just sprinkle some sugar on top?

Also today, I've caught up with two neighbours, done the food shopping (that was expensive, as I ended up buying a forever sharp knife set for £23, which I hadn't planned to, but at least we shouldn't have to sharpen or buy any more knives for a while now), eaten a tub of reduced morrocan style houmous for lunch, played on the computer, watched telly, and not really done a lot of flying.

I guess I'd better stop nattering, and get on with some cleaning in the kitchen - it's just sooooo hot, and we've got thunder bugs, so don't want to open too many windows, as they make me itch!

    Afternoon all
    *Rant alert*
What is the point of fancy 'time saving' gadgets that take so much time to clean:confused:
I got given a (very generous) present of a battery powered fence sprayer. Now I only have four fence panels. Yes it was probably quicker spraying them - once I had got it to work, but I'm sure I ended up using most of that 'saved' time getting the d&*n thing cleaned out afterwards . Doing the panels with a brush would have been a much pleasanter way of spending the time.
    *rant off*
Still it did save me some money. I had been thinking about looking at a powered roller for painting the house wall, but since I will have the same clean-up situation have decided against it.

Crafty my Mum said exactly the same after she used one. She found pumping the spray thing exhausting aswell and said never again.

SM re icing for my chocolate cake I melt butter (approx 1 1/2 ox) in a pan add a few spoons of chocolate powder, couple of drop of vanilla essence 2 tbsp of milk and then enough icing sugar to turn to icing - easy to spread and semi sets to a chocolate icing - I use to fill and ice the top.

Doing quite well at going through ox of stuff, cloudy but warm in the garden.

Anothe 20 minutes then DS2 can make some chicken nugets for tea.

    Afternoon everyone!
Had a good fly blitz with all the family on the downstairs (HHC!)- so looking good! Just the upstairs to do!
At least our room is still in good shape after Thursday - ready to sink into bed later!
Kids are playing in garden and MIL and FIL came round for a cup of tea. I managed to serve some victoria sponge that I'd made earlier - so pretty good day all round!
Right - trying to get some inspiration for tea! Have chicken, tin tomatoes, fresh mushrooms so possibly combine and serve with pasta? I'll let you know how it goes!
DD2 and DS are now looking cold having spent a long time in the paddling pool-so off to run a bath and throw them in there before feeding time at the zoo!

Thanks for the icing recipe Dusty. :T The cake is now iced inside and out, and OH is licking his lips after scraping out the pan. :p I've put it in the fridge so that it hardens a bit quicker as OH is asking when he can eat some. He's obviously recovering well from his man flu!

Kitchen is looking a little tidier now, as I've put all of the attachments for the FP back in the box, and have cleared a space in the cupboard for the box. The bowl and the lid can be put in the DW but will have to wash the other bits up by hand.

Oh dear, I think I've eaten too much icing (there was a bit left over you see), and now I'm REALLY thirsty! :o I've just drunk a pint of water, and will have to refill my glass.

Think I'll go and have a lie down in front of the TV. thtv2.gif

Crafty can't say I kno anyone who's used one of those spray things and liked it. DPs grandma bought one for DP to do her fence with & it was useless. A friend is having to replace a lot of clothes after her neighbour used one when she was at work covering a line of clothes with it.
Dusty I'll have to save that receipe for another day, sounds very nice and I've always been a disaster whn it comes to chocolate cakes, I just can't face baking when it's about 25 degrees
GG I always make something similar, I call it italian chicken, basicall anything I'd throw in a spag bol apart from the mince and add chicken instead, really nice especially as a summer meal when I find mince dishes a bit 'heavy'.
SM return of an appetite definately shows a recovery IMO

Bother, went to the coop and they had stuf reduced (50p insted of £2.79 for the nice sausages which is about as good as it gets here) then thought about the fact I need to empty the FF when I got home. OOOppppps! Called in there as had to go pick up something for DPs club, bit annoyed with myself as I'd set a washerload away to put out when I got back, then when I got back find it's dry and I'd forgot to switch it on! Argh!

Sonic stinks so must clean him out this afternoon, think I'll do it outside, save cleaning up as much sawdust etc from the house. Might take the boys to the park for a bit first, they're now, bored, because they've had so much to do all week.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Ouch!!
At least it was only my window that I sprayed. Bit surprised it had caught it. Made me realise how far the spray could reach
Plus to operate it you have to keep your thumb pressing down the button - which my thumb joint did not like.
However apparently the reason I got one was because my friend knows someone who has one and was praising it. So there is at least one person out there:confused:

Lil_me I make choccie cake using the same recipe as victoria sandwich 6/6/6/3 and after the creaming stage add 4 tbsps of coco of choc powder (i mix) depending on strength. Mix it with a little water to make a slightly runny paste and tip in. Cream a bit more then start the adding eggs/flour bit - never fails.

We've had tea in the garden but were pestered a bit by a small wasp. Going to put a few bits away in the garden then we are heading to a neighbours for a glass of wine and DS3 is sleeping in their garden in the tent. Sun just coming back out now which is nice as it has been cloudy.

:confused:But some people are strange and like things like ironing and cleaning aswell  doesn't mean they're normal :rotfl:

Dusty, I might just have to try that, thanks! I get so wound up before I start after having so many chocolate cake disasters! In fact most large cakes are disasters here. I tend to make brownies, muffins and fairycakes instead. Only problem is if I succeed it'll blow the diet out of the window.

Back from park, DSs said it was too hot and wanted to come home. I didn't realise it was 6.30 already, haven't even started tea, been too hot. Think I should start it now then do the lawns before 8pm.........although they were going until 9.30pm here last nigth I prefer to be considerate and have it packed away by 8ish, think I'll just do the front today.
