Morning all.
Slept quite well despite the heat here. Dull this morning but warm. It will probably get out sunny later as that is usually the case. Ive been out and done some shopping.
Just abot to go and tackle the spare room. Decided to do it in stages so its not too much.
lil_me Welcome back. Sounds like you all had a good time.
Soappie Hope you enjoy your book. Im an avid reader and always at the library.
Dusty Have fun with the LOs in the garden.
juliejim Hope you manage to get to Camelot. Have a good day.
Morning to GG rach and vanilla0 -
Well, I'm back from the shopping and I'm hot and depressed. Hot, because the thermometer in the car was showing 27 degrees and there was not a breath of air about.
Depressed for two reasons. The first one is because I couldn't find a particular print cartridge DD has asked for as one of her birthday presents. I tried just about everywhere I could think of.
The second reason is because in one 200 yard stretch at the seedier end of town I saw one drug deal go down, two young ladies (I use the term loosely) having a fight and three men walking around with cans of special brew in their hand. I then walked past a shop which is still boarded up and giving off that unique burned building smell after an episode of arson a couple of weeks ago.
I had no fears for my own personal safety but I was really saddened by it all. And I certainly have no idea what we can do to make it all better. Ahh me...
But one little cheery thing - having battled to try to print some photos off last weekend with DS's printer, I've splurged out on a small Epson photo printer so I'm off to play with that as it's far to hot to sit outside reading.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Soappie - I'm with you I find that sort of thing depressing. Our town is ok but the two towns either side are not nearly so nice and one is just how you described and I am sure some areas are a whole lot worse. Sorry I don't know about the cartridge - have you searched on line or post on the techy board on here.
I have
Stripped 2 beds
Put WM through on deep cleanse as it smelt funny as somebody had shut the door on it
Now washing first lot of bedding
Been into the loft twice - landing now clear (2nd time to find the paddling pool)
Pumped up pool - now filling with water
Done a bit more in the kitchen.
Going to hoover through downstairs now and then take hoover up stairs for later.
This afternoon I shall sit in the garden in the shade and sort my seeds/garden paper cutting etc with an icey drink. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Soappie.. there will always be sad things going on.. just be thankful they are all healthy well fed people.. if you were driving through China you'd see discarded babies, in South America street children by the score begging for a scrap of food, in India Old folk starving to death because they have no family to care for them and in Africa limbless children, sick people receiving no treatment and there are so many other atrocities going on all over the world.. those people you saw are in self destruct they CHOOSE to be like that they are not victims of circumstance they are just scrotes.. they only have to stop in order to be different they LIKE being like that so don't be sad for them.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

You're right, Pigpen, as usual. Still didn't stop me feeling depressed though!

soappie - i know what you mean! we have people from the mental hospital sit outside our flat drinking special brew and vodka all the time  but as pigpen says, we're so lucky in the west. I realised that a lot on my visit to africa.
I've put the lasagne together and made the pudding (my fave v easy pud - choc chip cookies dipped in brandy layered with whipped double cream), just need to throw a salad together later and cook the lasagne and garlic bread. done some of my list and am just contemplating whether to put the hair dye on now or when i've been to the shops... might be good to keep flying for now before I go out. bedsheets are in WM

Having a lovely day here. Have done some more in the kitchen, boys having a lovely time outside. Used up loads of leftovers for lunch. I'm going to clean the kitchen sink and then take my gardening stuff out - just need to avoid the water balloons which are flying. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

juliejim sorry but my kids school stuff has been put in the wardrobe unironed, if it needs doing just before they go back I will do it then
fingers crossed creases drop out by then.
soappie we're not cricket fans either but the ground which is a couple of miles away causes havoc for us! What winds me up the most is there is a wonderful park near it and when the cricket is on noones allowed to use the car park because they use it as an overflow. Pigpen said what I was thinking with the depressing things, I've watched too many people self destruct and now have very little sympathy.
rach good luck with the library, that's happened to me before so I always copy the screen saying it's been rebooked
vanilla, happy birthday to your DS2, with the animals keep an eye on them if they are in together, give them guineapig food not bunny food, watch out for if the piggy stats annoying the bunny as kicks from an upset bunny can kill/cause damage. Piggies don't sleep for very long at a time, bunnies like their sleep, so they tend to get on each others nerves. If the bunny is male it might be worth neutering to try to reduce it 'trying it's luck' same goes for the piggie.
DPs gone to work, pleased because he was getting on my nerves a lot, not had a good nights sleep here either so that made me a bit grumpy and he was the same. I'm on washer load 4 this morning, it'll be finished in about 5 minutes so will put that outside (can only fit one load at a time on the line so dragging the airers outside)
Got the FF repair company now coming out on Monday, cancellation they had, so need to get that emptied today into the other one (hopefully it'll all fit in) and get it switched off so it can defrost. DP not in for dinner so just me and the boys, will see what I can find for us. Fish I think as it's not DPs fave so usually do that when he's out.
Cooking in here as it's so hot, however not moaning too much as I need to get this washing done (one of DPs moans that he didn't have a clean shirt) I could do with getting the lawn cut but might wait until it cools off to do that, will check the weather forecast later. I'd like to get it done, the back especially so I can get the paddling pool out for the boys. Right, best get the washer emptied and refilled............I will get it all washed today! One day I might be more organised...........
