Bankruptcy Credit Reference File Clean Up - Discussion

Has anyone had any problems getting Halifax, MBNA, or Citibank to clean up their entries? I've sent the letters to them as instructed, recorded delivery, and they have all been signed for but a month has now passed and absolutely nothing has changed and I've not heard back from any of them.
Halifax and MBNA updated on Experian on 6th June but still have the same, incorrect information on them, and Citi hasn't updated since September last year.
Surely after being signed for on the 12th & 13th May, the CRA's should have updated by now? I have checked both Equifax and Experian so it doesn't appear to be a lag with one of the CRAs.
I don't want to waste my time raising three complaints with the commissioner if it's just a question of waiting longer.
Thanks in advance,

.......................................REMINDER.
NOTICE - LETTER BEFORE ACTION – BREACH OF THE DATA PROTECTION ACT BY CREDITOR.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I refer to my letter dated xx/xx/20xx and received at the registered address of your Data Controller on xx/xx20xx. Proof of your receipt of this is attached.
In my letter I required you to correct the information on my Credit Reference Files in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the guidance issued by the Information Commissioner.
I was declared bankrupt on xx/xx/20xx and subsequently discharged on xx/xx/20xx, and an account held with CREDITOR at the time was covered by this bankruptcy.
Namely:
Details of account(s)
For your convenience I also included with my initial letter:
List of documents you included.
I required that you:
- Mark these accounts in some way to indicate that these accounts are settled or satisfied.
- Amend the default entry to be no later than <Date if your bankruptcy>, in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
You had 28 days to correct this information.
You have so far failed to comply with this request and your obligations under the Data Protection Act.
Therefore I wish to remind you of your obligations and give you a final chance to correct the information.
You have 28 days from receipt of this letter to do so.
Should you fail to make the corrections required, further action will be taken.
I would appreciate your due diligence in this matter.
Yours faithfully

Yes, I'm having the same problem with Citibank and MBNA. Most of my other creditors have written to me to say they have amended file. I just today sent off for credit files to confirm who has updated correctly, then I'll start round 2.

Im doing this for my brother. He was in property so has mostly mortgage accounts. Two things - Firstly there are four accounts with Birmingham Midshires. The last few digits that are not X'd out on the credit rreport do not match the account numbers I have for the original mortgage accounts. Should I just send in the original account numbers which BM should be able to follow to th new number. I think they may have changed due to being defaulted accounts?
Secondly some entries in credit file show as 'Transaction Not Received This Month' and 'In Arrears' as opposed to defaulted. Do I just treat them the same way as a defaulted one?

Hi,
I got early discharge on 4th April 2010, and i am just starting to think about cleaning up my credit file. My barclays bank entry is still showing a balance but no default date, even though it is an overdraft, do i need to write and get this to appear as settled? Also, my house was only repossessed a week ago (finally), and am I right in thinking that I cannot do anything about the defaults on my mortgage and secured loan, until my house has been sold by the mortgage company??
Thanks0 -
I'm trying to clear up my credit file with regard to a former loan from AA Personal Finance Ltd. I have searched for the address to write to on the ICO website and it seemed to suggest HFC Bank PLC. However, they claim they are not the body responsible for this company.
Does anybody know the address I should contact?

The AA website says new loans are offered by the Co-operative. I'm not sure if they would've taken responsibility for the old loans though. Does your credit file not show the address for the loan?0 -
No, there's no address, just AA Personal Finance Limited. I guess I'll have to contact AA and see if they can help..

Following my BR most accounts are up to date on my file and the ones that aren't I will send letters to, however I am a little confused. Here is my problem. I have 2 or 3 accounts which were joint with my ex husband, he has vanished off the face of the earth, hence my bankruptcy. Now as these accounts were joint the liability falls to him and they don't get money from my bankruptcy but they are still appearing on my credit file as missed payments each month. Does the clean up process still apply to these accounts or am I stuck with these on my credit file forever because of him?
Any answers will be appreciated.

Hi
Not been on for a while. Can anyone advise me what my equifax credit report should say? I have 4 entries since my BK, they all say settled and have the date satisfied date as my BK date, but then shows a default balance as it stood on the day I went BK, which is in the thousands. Only one of these has a 'partial settlement' note below it.
Can someone tell me if the default balance should show £0 or does it not matter if it says settled and has the correct settlement date as my BK date?
Thanks in advance for any help!0
