Hi
Not been on for a while. Can anyone advise me what my equifax credit report should say? I have 4 entries since my BK, they all say settled and have the date satisfied date as my BK date, but then shows a default balance as it stood on the day I went BK, which is in the thousands. Only one of these has a 'partial settlement' note below it.
Can someone tell me if the default balance should show £0 or does it not matter if it says settled and has the correct settlement date as my BK date?
Thanks in advance for any help!
The default balance remains the same as that is the figure you defaulted on but the account should be marked as settled, satisfied or partially satisfied.0 -
Thats great - thanks for teh reply - I thought that I was going to have to write to them all again to get the amount marked as zero - thanks again :j0

I am on an old bankrupt well maybe not so long lol!!!
I was BR in July 2005 - Discharged ( well at least shows a satisfaction date of July 2006 on my experian credit report)
Some questions which I would me most grateful if you could answer:
1./. My experian files still shows some unsettled account as follows
- Hutchison 3G default date 31/08/2005
- HFC bank default date 30/11/2004
- Max recovery (cred card) defaulted on 14/12/2004
- British Gas defaulted on 13/10/2006
- Lloyds TSB Current account defaulted 18/05/2005
- Lloyds TSB loan defaulted 18/05/2005
- Lloyds TSB credit card defaulted 02/02/2005
- Lowell Portfolio 1 (I think on behalf of t-mobile old account) default 10/01/2005
Now do I bother writing to these people as most will come off end of this year - beginning of next year?
2./. For balances before the BR should I even tempt for it to be marked satisfied as the defualt may turn to the later date of the bankruptcy?
3./. I do not have a discharge certificate or the original banruptcy order - Can I get a letter from the OR for my discharge as I never had one?
4./. If I do need to get a copy of the order from the court how much will it cost?
I have been slowly building up a history with Vanquis credit card and a t-mobile phone and a current account - all with lovely green marks in the status history (Yippeee!!!)
I know I have to call up my equifax credit report and need to verify it but any help would be appreciated - should I bother with Call credit?
Thanks for all your help and time peeps!!Looking to start saving like a boss!! But where do I Start??

Following my BR most accounts are up to date on my file and the ones that aren't I will send letters to, however I am a little confused. Here is my problem. I have 2 or 3 accounts which were joint with my ex husband, he has vanished off the face of the earth, hence my bankruptcy. Now as these accounts were joint the liability falls to him and they don't get money from my bankruptcy but they are still appearing on my credit file as missed payments each month. Does the clean up process still apply to these accounts or am I stuck with these on my credit file forever because of him?
Any answers will be appreciated.
Thanks
Is there anybody who can shed some light on the above post as I have just been declined for a Barclays Cash Card account, and I thought they were pretty much guaranteed for bankruptsBankrupt 10.50hrs 27th August 2009. Big fan of this forum because people are so helpful.0 -
As you are jointly liable, you cannot demand that they are marked as settled.
They will however disappear from you credit report 6 years after they are reported as defaulted.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Can't answer everything...supersparky2000 wrote: »Now do I bother writing to these people as most will come off end of this year - beginning of next year? Up to you, if you need to apply for anything before then, aso.
2./. For balances before the BR should I even tempt for it to be marked satisfied as the defualt may turn to the later date of the bankruptcy? Not sure.
3./. I do not have a discharge certificate or the original banruptcy order - Can I get a letter from the OR for my discharge as I never had one? Don't think you need one, unless ED and need to prove so.
4./. If I do need to get a copy of the order from the court how much will it cost? £30 last I checked... not entirely sure now.

I know I have to call up my equifax credit report and need to verify it but any help would be appreciated - should I bother with Call credit? I would - from what I understand, Call Credit is used by estate agents as a first point of call.
Thanks for all your help and time peeps!!
Hope some of that helps.BR 22/10/2009 ED 08/07/20100 -
Don't know if anyone can help got a bit of a confusing issue here. My husband was declared BR in Dec 08 and discharged in Dec 09. Checked his credit record in Jun this year after reading this forum and was pleased to see everything said settled. However, I checked his report again this week to discover a load of entries have appeared for old debt which wasn't there before. I've got 3 reports for him from Jul 08, Jun 10, Jul 10 and they all seem to have different entries on them with different amounts and dates eg:
Black Horse £5,211 appeared Jul 08 and Jul 10 but not Jun 10
Black Horse £4,038 " " " "
Welcome Finance £3,893 appeared Jul 10
Black Horse £1,893 appeared Jul 10
Black Horse £6,686 appeared Jul 10
Black Horse Settled appeared Jun 10 not on Jul 10
Black Horse Settled appeared Jun 10 not on Jul 10
Two Black Horse loans where dealt with as CCJs which then came under the BR. My husband isn't aware of any other Black Horse loans apart from the 2 dealt with. The Welcome Finance one is a complete mystery. The default dates are very odd also eg:
Welcome Finance 6 payments late
BH £1,893 14/9/09
BH £5,211 03/08/06
BH £4,038 08/06/06
BH £6,686 03/08/09
He certainly hasn't had any credit since I met him in Mar 07. We have contacted Experian who are contacting the companies in question. I daren't even look at any of the other credit reports available. Has anyone come across this before or have a solution please.
Sorry for the long post but I'm really worried as we are about to go into business0 -
Hi All
Im a bit confused by the file clean up I got my file and most are still defaulted - however iv not yet been discharged, do I have to wait till im discharged to start cleaning up my credit file? or can I do it now? I attempted to get a cashcard account from barclays but got declined and apparently its very rare to be declined! and the bank couldnt understand why but maybe thats why??
Appreciate the help :money:0 -
Hi everyone hope you are all well,
I have been sending off the template letters to get my credit file in some sort of order (thanks Fermi :A) However, after going thru my credit report on experian, there are about half a dozen debts (all included in BR) that don't even appear on my file?? Do you know why this is?
Thanks in advance
