I am aware that bankrupcy stays on your credit file for 6 years, but is that 6 years from date of bankrupcy, or 6 years from date of discharge?
The date the original bankruptcy order was made.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Changing the subject slightly but avoiding a new thread:
I have just been discharged, and have written to my creditors advising them to update credit file.
I note the wording-satisfied-or partially satisfied.
In my instance, i had no assets whatsoever and so the OR did not pay over a bean to my creditors.
Thus they were neither satisfied or partially satisfied.
They got nothing.
Thus, should these creditors still mark the account partially satisfied, when in practice, they did not get a pennny ?0 -

Yes.
That phrase does not just reflect whether the debt was paid, but also that it is now no longer owed and payable. It is a bit odd, but that is the way it must be done.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi folks,
Please help.....
I was in business last year, and used the services of a factoring company. I had to close the company due to one of my clients going bankrupt, and owing me £13,500.00.
Well on friday i recevied a demand from the factoring company saying i have 18 days to get it set aside, or 21 days to find the cash. It has took me months to get back on my feet, and i dont have that kind of money. The fees are as follows,
1. 10k cancellation fees
2. 2k VAT
3. Outstanding invoices ( Which they never collected in )
Does anyone know what i should do. I dont at this stage be made bankrupt.
Also there is another director in the company who is not named on the demand.
