  • Also although I was given the offical date of november 2007 as my automatic discharge date I have received no offical notification or certificate. Do I have to request a certificate from the or?

I believe it costs £60 for discharge certificate from the OR.

22.7EA Request by bankrupt for certificate of discharge

Where a bankrupt is discharged following the early discharge process they will receive confirmation of the date of their discharge on Form EDNOT (see paragraph 22.11EA in part 2) If the bankrupt requests a certificate of discharge, he/she should be directed to the court (see paragraph 22.8 re liaison with the court).

Where a bankrupt obtains an automatic discharge by expiration of time, no order of discharge will be made by the court. If evidence of discharge is required, the former bankrupt may apply to the court for the issue of a certificate of discharge, which will indicate the date from which the discharge is effective.

IQUIT thats not quite right.......you can get a letter from your OR stating your discharge this would be free...the £60 official cert is from the court you were made BR at BUT in some cases with certain benefits you could get this for free

Will the paper credit reports give me the account number so I can write to the correct people and have the neessary details updated?

My Call credit report doesn't have the full numbers, just xxxxx and the last four digits of the account numbers (which will be fun when it comes to clean up, as I have no idea what most of them are!).

I just received letters from the other two wanting my inside leg measurement, blood sample and first born before they will let me have a look at my credit file - am desperately trying to get it all together, but don't have any of the documents they want, so hoping they take random letters from HMRC and things to prove who I am. Slightly concerned they want original documents and won't accept photocopies, as I doubt I'll ever get them back such is the laxness it seems of the operations...sigh. The day in court to go BR is only the very very very beginning!!

Indeed I have led a faultless credit history since being discharged in 2007 and naively believed my credit hostory would repair itself:rolleyes:
  • Hi - am I right in thinking that all three credit agencies allow you to get a copy of your report online completely free, as long as you cancel within a month (or 3 months for CallCredit)?

Nope......experian at the minute is the only free offer one

although......you can ask for a copy of your statutory (sp) credit files from all three agencies & these will cost around £2.50 EACH

  • Thanks for the quick reply ..

I'm a bit confused though, because http://www.equifax.co.uk/ says it's free for the first month too, as does http://www.callcredit.co.uk/ (if you click on 'see your report now' -> the panel states "Your credit score FREE for the first 3 months")

Are these supposedly free offers not really free?? (i.e. is it a scam?)

I sent off a £2.00 postal order to the 3 credit reference agencies and they came back within a week. I only had to tell them my name, dob and addresses for last 5 years (no inside leg measurement or first born required).

It was relatively painless and I have unlimited access to viewing them.
