I have recieved a letter back from Orange, and i am slightly confused, all 3 CRA's has my default date as nov 2007 and now orange wrote to me and said they are changing my default date to the date of my bankruptcy? errr why? i only wanted them to say there was nothing outstanding not change my default.
Best thing is they said they will only update 2 of the CRA's!!! why not call credit? my details are on there too?
Any ideas can they do this?
ThanksIs a Bipolar bear0 -
How soon after discharge is it advisable to do this? is it worth leaving it a couple of months to try and let them clean it up themselves or should i start doing this now, after being discharged for a week!0

leave it at least a month or so after discharge before you start getting all three files....We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Same boat as some others here, tryin to clean my file and have 2 of them still showing as default and total amounts showing. Equifax is only showing the last 4 digits of my account numbers so how can i write to the companys to get them to update the files?0

do you still have a copy of your bankruptcy paperwork? they'll be on there if you have....or you could contact the court you attended & ask them if they can send you a copy of your BR paperwork (may be a change...liverpool didnt with me)We all die. Will this work for getting pre bankruptcy CCJ's marked as satisfied/partial settled?
I have two and whilst all but one of my old creditors have updated my files correctly after my request, I have not as yet bothered with the CCJ's as I don't know if the process applies here.0 -
Hi
OH has written to all the creditors on his credit report and now all say satisfied so what happens now? We don't particularly want credit at the moment but eventually want to buy another house. I know that we need to get together as big a deposit as possible but do we really need to get credit or are we better just keeping the things we already have squeaky clean?
Thanks for any advice

its damage limitation......leave it a couple of months and get the files again to see if creditors have indeed changed things...as one famous ad said "every little helps"We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

Egg- want to KILL them. Ok as you can see from my name my Bankrupcy was six years ago- hurrah i thought! But no..I "sorted" my file in 2007. (wrote to Data Controller, spoke to loads of people on phone).
Checked it in 2008 and saw Egg was still saying default of July 2004- a year too late (and 4 months after my discharge!).
So I wrote again to the Insolvency team in Derby as requested by Egg.
Thought I would check again just before the order should fall off after 6 years..EGG STILL THERE! So wrote again with all cetificates and standard letter.
Got latest one back and IT's STILL THERE. I have lost all proof but will resend again. Has anyone out there got extra sectret email addresses / fax numbers or names that i can send my letters to? I want to swamp them with the info in the vain hope it will work this time. (will save all recorded delievery stubs for sure.
I just want to move on with my life!0 -
Hi
Having checked my credit file I have noticed that I have 5 judgements all dated after I went BR.
Can I ask them to be removed?
Thanks0
