You do need to go back to see the doctor my lovely, you can explain how you are feeling and a change or adjustment of your meds can make a big difference!
Getting a dog is also a great idea, nothing like having a constant, loving friend to help you through each day

Thanks everyone. I have decided to listen to the advice you have all been giving and I will try to get an appointment with my GP tomorrow. It's a local holiday here though so I'm not sure if the surgery will be open but I'll give it a shot. Only problem is that I might have to wait a couple of weeks to see one of the really good and understanding docs.
I have just come back from my step-dad's house. I don't want people knowing what a mess I am inside but I am finding it really difficult to put a brave face on it. SD wasn't all that keen on J anyway so that makes it tougher again. I think he's glad he's gone tbh.
SD also poured cold water over the idea of a dog. Too bad, I'm going ahead with it. I think she'll do me good. I'll have to call the dog home this week to find out how she's doing and when I can collect her.

Mupeteer...you may/may not be aware the site has been down and unfortunately we have been unable to post earlier today...so we're all very relieved to see you back here tonight.
I tried to post earlier....and just wanted to say that there are times where you may find yourself in a dark place like earlier today.
I was there 9 months ago. And at midnight this morning the Owls celebrated the end of my annus horibilis.....which 9 months ago I didn;t think I would ever see. But thanks to my GP, a wonderful psychotherpist, and most especially the wonderful DFW's on here....I have a future to look forward to.
I can't remember the first few months after I lost my (I thought) soul mate last year..at an already particularly traumatic time in my life. All I can say is I felt like raw liver being pushed through a sieve. It will hurt....lots..perhaps for longer than you have patience for....but it WILL get better...you can and WILL survive this my love...you are a special and valued person as we all here will testify.
You are not alone sweetheart...and whatever the time....day or night....when you are really hurting....or when it seems particularly raw or black.....just let us know...and we will be there for you.. Just remember....what is happening to you is totally normal....
Big hugs...glad to see you back posting tonight...and go get that woofer Hun!!
Much love

I really hate following Wol's posts as she always says what I want to say, but in a much lovelier way.
But I just wanted to say that I'm here if you need someone to talk to. You are doing much better than you are giving yourself credit for. Do go and speak to the GP - when you ring them, tell them it's urgent and get yourself booked in as soon as you can. You might need different tablets, or just to give them a bit longer to work, but just talking through how you are feeling may help a little.
They may also be able to refer you to counselling, if you feel it would help.
Take care sweetie xxx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Lovely post Wol. I can only echo the sentiments on here mupeteer. I hope you will talk to someone and manage to get to the GP, even they must run an out of hours surgery..and hopefully you will begin to rebuild your life. I love the idea of a dog as well ..sounds great.
