Just had a call from this number. Very abrupt salutation, "are you the
homeowner?" English not their first language, doubt "Martin" really was
in Brum, but you never know. Did my standard "I don't take unsolicited
phone calls, I'm in the TPS, "your company should not be phoning my
number, asked me for my mobile number, so he could phone me on that!
Said something about Fensa/Fencer finance, but wasn't trying to sell me
anything, reported to TPS and explained that I'd googled the number to
this website. Will report back if they inform me of anything.

Does anyone know who this number is. They ring me everyday at home while i'm at work and when u ring the number it is just instructions on how to unsubscribe from their list, No company name.

I just had a call from the same number. In the end I asked them to spell the name of the company. It turns out that the company name is "Windsor Finance" based in India. I told them I was TPS & they made a sharp exit. When you try to call the number it's unobtainable. Great! :mad:

Received several calls from this number and today the caller introduced himself as Windsor Finance. I'm registered with TPS and have informed them of this but they are not bothered. Hang up on them they are nuisance callers.

Since registering with TPS I have only had 2 companies ring me, so as far as I'm concerned it works most of the time.

I too have had the pleasure of being contacted by 0121 273 3761 (twice in 24 hours) and also couldn't understand a word they were saying - I thought they said "Vinta Finance", and that was at the fifth attempt of trying to understand them. Thankfully caller ID made a note of their number & I have reported them to TPS. The previous company I had problems with withheld their number so TPS couldn't do anything.

I finally managed to get rid of the first (anonymous) company by quoting the law to them - I mentioned Reg 21 of The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and they had hung up before I had finished what I was saying & haven't rung back since (that was 6 months ago). Did the same with 0121 273 3761 & they hung up straight away as well - only time will tell if they don't call back but I'll pursue my TPS complaint anyway.

Yeah I dialled it too, cos I suspect like welshie I enjoy letting rip at firms who think they are entitled to make marketing calls to numbers that are registered with the TPS.

I found this thread via Google. So if anybody knows what this number is, do spill! I'm certainly not leaving a message on their answerphone telling them what my number is!

I put that number in the ICSTIS (Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of the Telephone Information Services) and this is the only information they have on that number:-


ICSTIS does not regulate this type of number. However we can tell you the following.

• This is classified as a Special Services basic rate: BT’s Standard Local Call Retail Price for BT customers number.
• It is provided by Cable and Wireless (Energis).

The only advice that I can offer you is (if you are with BT) is to contact them, tell them that you are receiving nuisance calls and they will offer their 'Choose to Refuse' service that allows you to bar individual numbers that are calling you. Now it is chargable but if you mention that you are getting nuisance calls they offer it free for a month.
