    :hello: Good morning!

Daughters scan went ok yesterday, the lump is an infected lymph gland and the anti biotics are working and shrinking it down so panic over!:o My appt went ok as well bp at a more managable level but I must watch it as it is borderline and my sis is on lifetime meds for high bp. I have two tubs of flora pro active in the fridge and use olive oil but I am sure improvements can still be made.

We celebrated with a meal out, a healthy one, chicken, spinach & asparagus on noodles and just 1 glass of red wine.
So nice not to have dishes to wash!

Today is a quiet day in, after walking the puppy I intend to potter about the place tidying, maybe trying out the flapjack recipe in the remoska and watching a couple of dvds while finishing some knitting.

If there is a mini meet in london when Catowen is visiting, Mr C:cool: and I might be able to join you, we are hoping to have a couple of days visiting at our slow and steady pace some of the shops/museums and would enjoy stopping for a drink and meeting you all.

(((hugs))) to all that could use one!

    have a lovely day!

    Catz x

    Good morning:D

Congrats to the misses Squiggly and stefejb on their excellent results:T Hope you can find out more re the job situation at the party stef. It's much easier for them to offer you a job now you're on the reserve list. They don't have to interview again.

((smoky)) hope you get over the cold soon. There's lots of it about, some quite nasty so fingers crossed. ( oh and for the chicken pox;) )

anniebooklover, have a great holiday. I'm sure Aussie will keep us posted on your activities:rotfl: joannasmum you have a good one too.

Snowy, good luck with the job hunting, and thanks for the photo of Aussie:T I hadn't realised she looked that good before she had her coffee, was expecting much worse:rotfl:

Not sure what I'm doing today. I've got a funeral this afternoon ( nice old lady from Church, not a family member).
The weather seems to be brightening, so I'll get some washing going. Not that it's been raining, just very dull all morning. Might even mow the grass.
Still mostly using stuff from the freezer, so dinner tonight will be a nice tuna steak for me and a salmon one for DH as he doesn't like tuna much. And I must do some baking at some point, the biscuit tins are empty again:rolleyes: Goodness, my life is just soooooo exciting:o

Best get a move on, enjoy your days, CM x

Just seen your post catznine. Very pleased for you about DD's scan.:T What a relief:D

    Morning all

Wet here again...My sister was supposed to be coming to see me with my little nephew today coming from Huthwaite to go to Skegness, but dont think they will.

On the benefits front, have to go back Wednesday to sign on but wont hear anything for 10 days from Monday 14th. The jobcentre do not reimburse bus fares so we are £13 out of pocket then another £13 next Weds. Told us to apply for a crisis loan.

    So not much happening today

    :grouphug: to all in need.

    catch up later.

    Good morning!

Grey and gloomy looking here - hope this all means that we shall be having a fabulous August!

BM did a second round last night, dd2 wanted blue bread! Hope nobody thinks I'm trying to poison her when they see her sandwiches! Will put WM later, hopefully the weather will brighten up and I can put it out on the line. Need to have a quick hoover round as well, always need to have a hoover around it seems.

Meeting a friend for lunch, we're heading for an all you can eat Chinese buffet, so prob won't be doing much after that as I'll be too full!

Not too sure what's for tea for the kids, will ask them when they get home what they fancy, need to get some stuff eaten from the freezer as we have half a pig arriving soon!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

    Good morning everyone,

WELL DONE to Miss stef and Miss squiggly on your SAT results. DS is still waiting for his, expect it will be next week when they get their school reports!

Catz - so glad the scan and BP results were good - would love to meet up when we go to London!!

AnnieBL - have a wonderful holiday!! (and Joannasmum!)

Aussie - glad your sister is ok, time to start nagging if she is doing too much tho!!

N9eav - glad your uncles op went ok.

Pink - hope things get better soon, why is it taking so long to sort your benefits out???

:hello: Taplady, mrs mix and Shez.

((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one - again, im sorry to all those ive missed, but have LO here trying to grab wires so concentrating on stopping that at the mo!!

So9, just the one here today, plus DS - the school put on a school trip that i couldnt afford, and although it said voluntary contribution, refused to help, so he is having a day with me and the baby instead!

Nothing much planned, a friend who is moving is letting me have some of her old furniture later, so will be going to collect that after school - will have a new tv stand and matching table so will be able to get rid of my old grubby stuff for this nice new stuff!!

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My hubby is the kindest man in the world. He'll happily help with anything in the kitchen, house or garden if he thinks I am getting snowed under.

This morning, I heard a gentle scratching and went into the kitchen to find him, sharp knife in hand, scraping the doughy paddle of my pride-and-joy Panasonic breadmaker. When I nearly shrieked at the little pile of scratched off Teflon and breadcrumbs, he just said he was trying to be helpful.

At Christmas, I was given a mountain of fresh garlic cloves. I stood all morning preparing them in jars of oil to freeze. I have just used up one jar and carefully put to the side the lovely flavoured oil for cooking something like omelettes. Yesterday, I found the jar lovingly washed up by hand and sitting in the drainer ... you've guessed it - he was helping me again and all that classy ingredient had been tipped down the sink!

Is it just my household or have others tales to tell of family members being (disastrously!) helpful?

My daddy keeps "helping" by throwing away chicken carcasses so I rarely get to use them to make chicken stock.

Nothing so disasterous... but it IS cute when darling husband hangs up the washing on the rotary drier in the garden... he hangs all the wet jeans on one side, all the underpants on another, t-shirts on a third and socks and whatnots on the last... then can't understand why the jeans take ages to try bless him! :)
He tries!!! And I love him for it :)
