charliesmum I'm sure they won't. :p Unless they get me mixed up with Granny & her cooking sherry. :D How did you go in the auction?

We haven't been yet, I will let you know tomorrow ;)

Went into a supermarket this morning, and there was a poor woman with a small boy who was throwing a temper tantrum. She calmly carried on shopping and completely ignored him. You could hear him screaming with temper all the way round and when I got to the checkout the woman in front of me turned to me and said

" It's disgusting, can't she walk any slower. She isn't even talking to him, it's a disgrace"

I said that she was doing exactly the right thing by ignoring him as it was temper, and she said it was wrong as the poor little thing was getting really upset

Last time I was in there I got in a row with a woman who pushed in the queue in front of me. Maybe I need to calm down

    Hello everyone!

Been and got some shopping this morning, some for us take with us on holiday and some for staying in the cupboard for DS1 while we are away! All this self-catering lark is becoming expensive!! Think its easier going into a hotel! :rotfl: Do you pack loads of things so you dont have to bother washing & ironing? or only pack a few things and then spend your holiday time washing & ironing?? Hot weather stuff, cold weather stuff, sandals, wellies, swim stuff, buckets & spades, kitchen sink!:rotfl:

We had a fun time trying to sort out what goes where in the car boot - Men, they just dont know how to get the most out of a space do they??:rotfl:

You need a holiday to recover from your holiday!:p :rotfl:

Catowen - Harrods have a Tractor for sale for £1,999 - you can afford that with your voucher! (not really - only kidding;) )
Essex-girl & catznine - Great if you can both make it!:j and anyone else of course??? - Catz - glad yr DD results were good!

Aussie - :rotfl:- thats a very naughty pic to post of bookie:naughty:

Happy Holidays to Annie, Pen-Pin, Joannasmum and anyone else!

CONGRATULATIONS lilmisskitkat - He is Gorgeous!!

Congratulations to Ms Squiggly & Stefejb:T :T I'm sure all the others waiting will do equally as well!

Off to do more packing....:o have a good day everyone x

Maybe I should calm down too then. I went to asda the other day and this woman came up to me and told me - for no apparent reason - that the reason thecountry is in a mess is nothing to do with Gordon Brown-he's a lovely man (she said). She went on to say the queen is to blame and the government only do what she tells them. How I managed not to respond I don't know but I mustered up the strength to just walk off-quickly and avoided her like the plague for the rest of my shopping trip-I have to say I was incensed, but i managed to count to ten and ignore it (somehow!!!)

I remember taking a howling middle dd round the supermarket some 16 years ago in much the same fashion. An old lady stopped me at the checkout. "oh here we go" thought I - she congratulated me on keeping calm and said that too many mums give in nowadays.

lilmiskikat - congratulations - he is gorgeous - welcome back :)

Kaat Lady...we just discovered in May that OH has an enlarged heart chamber, he has never had chest pains before...I have given him until 3 pm and then he is going to hospital whether he likes it or not...even if I have to drag him by the scruff of the neck!
Good on you Tattycath...some very well informed people around methinks!
I agree with ignoring tantrums but it can be so hard...you want to murder the little so-and-so at the time, so congratulations to those who are able to do it and keep trying to those of you who can't...it does work.

Hello everybody - I know the day's more than half over, but need to get involved with these threads, to get to know some of you & pick up any hints & tips I can.
DS 3 (14 months) asleep (for a change!), so trying to grab some PC time whilst 16yr old DS is out, plus finish w/up, bit of ironing - no-one has anything to wear! - & start tea.....yeah, right I hear you say! ;)
DD (now 19) had a paddy in town when she was about 14, making v. loud comments about me 'not being fair, why can't I have' etc, got louder, so I calmly told her DS & I were going to supermarket, she could wait at car & walked off leaving her looking v. silly by herself!!! She kept shouting after us, but we ignored her & I noticed a few other mums grinning at us, NOT tutting, so we must have got it right!
Overcast, still air here, so clothes in drier - trying to ignore £ ringing in my head. House is a mess, behind with Christmas planning (don't groan - I've got a big family!), got to work most of Sunday, just had to pay £60 for new car battery fitted..... but there's half a bottle of wine & some chocolate lurking for after tea!!:rotfl:
Hope to talk to some of you soon.
If it's not too late in the day, love & hugs if anyone still needs them.

    Evening all

Littlemisskitkat congratulations, he's a handsome little fella

Also congrats to Miss Stef and Miss Squiggly on their SATs results, at least they got their results, not like some !!!

Well have managed to organise Mum's funeral at last, but not until Tuesday 29th. Now have to sort out the music and some poetry for the service. Have to choose 3 pieces of music, Dean Martin will be there (otherwise mum will never forgive me, she was a big fan) will have to find some inspiration for the others. There is a poem on the internet I must find too which I would like read out.

Apart from that have done some shopping today, had a cut at blow dry, and have dusted and hoovered lounge and dining room. Salmon, new pots and peas for dinner and an M&S chocolate brownie dessert for afters as its my youngest son's 22nd birthday today. We would have gone out for a meal but with everything that is going on and the fact he is going out for a lemonade or 2 tonight ;) we will save that until the funeral is over. We will then go out and celebrate the life of my mum, our new granddaughter being born and son's birthday all in one I think.

Have a good evening every one

    evening all,

Came home from work feeling awful, sore throat aching limbs, headache etc, just in time for the weekend  , had a lay on the bed for an hour, and just got up, feel slightly better, just had a cold and flu hot drink to try and ward it off, I really don't want to be ill all over the weekend.

Oh is cooking the dinner, will be ready in 10 mins, and I am hungry, Pippa s , yup plenty of dinner for you too, can you be round in 10 mins ? :rotfl:

Littlemisskitkat what a beautiful baby, awww he is so lovely.

Well dd has finished school, she took a Body shop gift basket in for her teacher, who has been her form tutor for two years, and is now leaving for a year because she has adopted a 2 year old boy, there was a few tears all round, and she said to the girls ( its a girls school ) that she will miss them, and that she thinks of them all as her children

Any hoo, I can hear OH dishing up, hurry up pippa s, :D

    Have good evenings all xx
