Came home from work feeling awful, sore throat aching limbs, headache etc, just in time for the weekend  , had a lay on the bed for an hour, and just got up, feel slightly better, just had a cold and flu hot drink to try and ward it off, I really don't want to be ill all over the weekend.
Oh is cooking the dinner, will be ready in 10 mins, and I am hungry, Pippa s , yup plenty of dinner for you too, can you be round in 10 mins ? :rotfl:
Any hoo, I can hear OH dishing up, hurry up pippa s,
Have good evenings all xx

Talkin funerals, I have told OH,DS1 and DS2, I want "Spirit in The Sky" at mine, played full blast to go into the church, a poem I have found that I like,1 hymn "All Through the Night", I heard it once on songs of praise and loved it, so wrote the title down before I forgot it;)
also one hymn of their choice, but not "All Things Bright and Beautiful" I have been to 2 funerals lately and they have both had that, its a popular choice apparently, so not for me, and Bob Marley and the Wailers "Lets Get Together",to exit the church, I think that lot should raise a few eyebrows:rolleyes:
Morbid....to some maybe, but not meant to be.
Off to watch some TV now and finish off another teddy.

Hi all, I don't post on here often as I don't think my days are all that interesting.. However tonight I have dropped DD2 aged all of eleven off for her schools leavers party. She was resplendent in her dress (Oxfam, £1.25) shoes, (Stead and Simpson summer sale, £3.99 - leather) hairslide - part of gift set from Auntie at christmas and necklace, playground swap.
Some of her classmates - hair done by hairdressers, tiaras (!) chiffon wraps over satin dresses and !full make-up! arriving in limousines. Am I the only one who thinks this is obscene?0 -
No your not Morwenna. Eleven year olds in full make up and limousines????? They are still kiddies for goodness sake. Their parents must have more money than sense Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:0

Hi all. RedRuby - I do hope you feel better soon - take care of yourself.
At my funeral I want 'Abraham, Martin and John' by Marvin Gaye - simply because it's my all time favourite. The 'lark rising' bit by the composer Vaughn Williams and 'Beloved' by Mario Lanza because it was my dad's favourite. I would also like 'Over the Rainbow' by Eva Cassidy but I have a feeling you are only allowed three pieces of music.
Well, nothing much to report here. DH suggested fish and chips from the chippie for dinner and I wasn't going to argue with that. I've just had a bath and I'm looking forward to a sit down hoping that I won't doze off. I've been incredibly tired for the last couple of days; don't know why.
Anyway, hope everyone has a good evening.
Penpin - hope you and your family have a great holiday.

OMG you're kidding. I actually gasped out loud and dd came to see if there was a sp*der. Why can't they just be children for as long as possible - plenty of time for all that self-image trauma. DD has hers on mon. originally it was going to be a formal themed pink and black party but loads of mums complained about having to shell out (me included) so it's just a "starting at 3, bring party clothes in a carrier if you like and if mum's got some crisps in the cupboard bring those too" theme now- much better idea. dd needs a formalish dress for her trip to canada which we are going to try to buy tomorrow, this will double .... er triple .... as her leavers dress, party dress for tomorrow night and dress for her theatre night in canada (lovely exbil has got tickets for dirty dancing for when she is there and if I don't send her with a dress he will take her out and spend a fortune)
btw Morwenna - it's always interesting to us as we're very nosy so do stick around
y'know how I said this morning that I was going to treat myself to a dress ..... weeell ......1pr jeans, 1pr combats, blouse, cropped trousies, 3 t-shirts and dress all for just over £50 from MR T. Well chuffed as I normally only buy second hand. Also got some shorts and two tops for dd's trip.
my dbro has my funeral songs so I don't think it's morbid. two of them are definites but I keep changing the third. Years ago dbro went sort of missing treking the andes - I whiled away the time planning his funeral songs. When he got back (liked it so much he stayed an extra couple of weeks and didn't think to email) he said that I was almost spot onI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

No morwenna, you are NOT....11yrs old I have never heard the like .....what on earth are their parents thinking ofthey all grow up too soon as it is without all that paraphenalia. It is creepy to see them dressed up like little dolls.
You know what happens next dont you? Have more want more:eek: and never satisfied.
ooo just listen to me up on my soapbox, I cant help it I get so  when I see children growing up too soon, and their parents allowing them to. Instead of letting them develop in their own way, and enjoying it.
