Evening all,
Have almost finished the curtains, bit difficult as I have made them with 2 similar materials instead of using lining material. IYSYIM. They are double sided.
Still no answer from DB2.
LILMISSKITKAT, your baby boy is beautiful. Just want to snuggle him.

SMOKEY, I hope you're feeling better and try to have an easy week-end, coz your worth it.
I was going to request ''Give me just a little more time'' and the ying-tong, ying-tong song. I wonder who remembers that it was on the Goon show'
Think I'll settle for ABBA 'I belive in Angels' (coz I do) and EVA CASSIDY 'Somewhere over the rainbow'0 -
MORWENNA, I think it's the parents that send their 10/11 yr old daughter out dressed like Loletta that should feel guilty, Good God what sort of message do they what their kids to give out. Shame on them I say.
Sorry, steps off the soap box0 -

I have to smile at your comment to let them starve!:rotfl:
The fridge may be a bit bare but the cupboards are full of stuff - just things they have to think about using to make a meal. When I phoned home they said that DD(19) had made pasta - so they managed!
DD(23) delighted and shocked with her presents of GHDs and books she will enjoy, as she was not expecting it. Had a lovely day with her and crossing everything I can think of that her interview will be successful!
DDs think my suggestion of "Burn, baby, burn " is tasteless!
"Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye!" did not go down well either!"This site is addictive!"

Funeral-wise - I would like Entrance of the Queen of Sheba - I know it's a wedding thing - didn't get it then .....
Closing of the curtains - atm - nobody does it better. But the YING tONG SONG would work too x0 -
You're a happy bunch tonight with the funeral song choices... My sister had queen of sheba for her wedding when they signed the register, I haven't had anything as I've not managed to get married yet...and I'm 40 next year...sometimes think marriages are only meant to happen to everyone else.
As for funerals, my grandad had I believe in angels at his funeral-it was lovely but I cry every time I hear it now.
My mum used to sing the ying tong song to me coz she knew it got on my nerves and I hated it!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi guys.
Happy hols to all of you escaping for a short while, big gentle hugs to all in need of one and congratulations to all of you who are celebrating today.
I am sat on my settee with my lappy, wrapped in a huge blanket and altenating between sweating buckets and shivering half to death.I have the heating on and am spending my time opening and closing the windows, throwing the blanket on and off and - well you get the picture. :rotfl: :rotfl: My nose is doing a great impersonation of Rudolph's and I don't want to play this game any more!!!!!!
Needless to say the garden was relegated back to another day but I have managed to do the annual tax credits thingy (2 of them because of change of circumstances) and add to the mountain of ironing.
DS1 had a cubs bbq on the beach this evening and thoroughly enjoyed himself and my sis who ferried him has arranged to take the 3 out for a walk tomorrow afternoon as usual.
I was going to add that tomorrow I hope to do.................. but I think I'll change it to tomorrow I hope to have as little argy bargy from the 3 as possible whilst I ignore anything that doesn't make me feel better.
Have a good night guys,
Smoky. xxxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

Talking of funeral songs, on the radio the other day they were saying that the most requested funeral song in Australia is 'Ding Dong The Witch is Dead' !!!
I have really hurt my wrist so can't type much. Just wanted to say hey to lilmisskitkat and congrats on the bean :wave:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Tattycath - I've just come back from a wedding and the bride was 46 and the groom 50 - they'd been going out for about three years. So don't call off the search just yet!!!
Well I may as well have a witter about the wedding. It was a really good day - the rain only started when people were either inside the church or in their cars driving to the reception. It wasn't too cold either. Bit of a miracle!! The church is right beside the bride's house so as soon as the service was over everybody went next door and all photos were done in the garden. That was lovely, very sociable and relaxed. Some entertainment at the reception was provided by various family members - there was Irish dancing, some flute playing, some traditional fiddle music played and then more traditional dancing. Definitely a very money saving idea don't you think getting relatives to showcase their talents:rotfl: As mentioned above the couple getting married were a bit older and neither has been married before. But they are married now and are very happy to have found each other. Oh and the meal was lovely, enormous portions yummy!
Right now I need my kip, so good night all.
