Well I've really let my hair down and painted the town red since I last posted. We went to the Bowls Club for tea. :D I mowed the front lawn after I posted earlier and finished cutting out the pattern. Might start tomorrow depending how I feel. ;) I love the material so I hope it turns out a bit better than the last one.

littlemisskitkat Congratulations on the safe arrival of Thomas. Can't believe he's got that much hair. He's adorable. Shame about your laptop.
Catz That's great news. What a relief for you all.
Congratulations to Miss stef and Miss squiggly on their school results.
joannasmum Hope you have a happy holiday & of course we'll be hearing more of Bookie :D so enjoy yourselves.
charliesmum I'm sure they won't. :p Unless they get me mixed up with Granny & her cooking sherry. :D How did you go in the auction?
CM Don't work too hard today. ;)

Enjoy the rest of your day. I'm off to bed shortly. ;):D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Mornin' all

A Wolfy (((hug))) for all who need it.

I had to laugh at the various posts about husbands being "helpful" and causing more problems than they solve. Thank goodness Mr LW is reasonably well house-trained! I think all those years living alone, before we met, must have taught him a lot.

Went to Sainsburys yesterday when he finished work, which was at 15:30 as he was on Early shift and working from home. We needed some freezer stuff, and I thought I'd save a couple of trips later on by stocking up on non-perishables; washing powder, loo rolls, baked beans style of thing. Non-frozen perishables I can ask him to get in his lunch break, at need, as his office is 5 mins walk from Letchworth Morrisons.

He's back in the office today, so I'm back to being stuck in the house on my own. Never mind - next Thursday we have a friend's dog coming to stay while they go on their hols. Saves them kennel fees, and Molly Dog has a great time here.

Ok, I've waffled enough for now, I think.

    Later, folks.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Congratulations littlemisskitkat little Thomas is so sweet!

My bp possibly went up a knotch earlier when I went downstairs this morning and discovered the puppy had tramped mud (lots) all over the conservatory and then totally gone to town and now virtuallly every inch of carpet in the living room and dining room is covered! I'm not a happy bunny and we will have to get the carpet cleaner out this weekend. Hopefully Mr Catz will agree soon to getting rid of the carpet (well we can't get rid of the cockapoo can we!:D) and putting down a wooden floor. I can live in hope anyway!

Aussie if you are like me you won't care where you eat out so long as you don't have the washing up to do! I used to make a skirt a week while OH was away training, they were just about wearable, no where near as good as your dressmaking skills, but the feeling of achievement was great.

Have a lovely holiday Pennypincher,Joannas Mum and Annie booklover!

Judith you have just reminded me to put the breadmaker on and make a granary loaf! Hope you feel better soon.

Off to see if a stardrops formula will remove the worse bits of mud! while trying to keep the cockapoo pup out of the bucket! lol!

    Busy thread this morning!

Lilmiss - what a gorgeous baby! Congratulations and welcome back. I'm so glad your FM has been kept at bay.

Congratulations to Miss Stef and Miss Squiggly - well done!

Catz - what tremendous relief you must be feeling; I'm so glad the results were good.

Well, I've been shopping and kept the purchases to a minimum and spent £49 but that did include quite a lot of meat. My supermarket has reduced the price of eggs, porridge and some other regular things which I can't remember - oh, yes, Andrex was one of them, so I feel as if I have done well for my money. Mind you there are lots of things we are doing without or finding other solutions to, like chocolate bars - our local dairy sells boxes of broken ones which are just the same but, well, broken!

I still have to pack the shopping away but, as DH is not yet back from doing a quote, I thought I'd grab five minutes on here. I've missed popping in throughout the day. He has a couple of quotes this afternoon, too, so I hope they all lead to confirmed work. Sometimes, he can spend hours on a quote and the customer decides to put the job on hold or something like that so there is a lot of time-wasting. He spent a good few days quoting on a big local authority job once which also involved me phoning various companies up to price different things, and then they ran out of money so it was all wasted. Still, today's quotes are for regular customers so I'll be very surprised if the jobs don't go ahead.

It's very dull here but not as cool as yesterday; I can't believe I have been wearing cardigans over my sleeveless tops in July! I've got washing drying on the airer but with no heating on it will take longer than usual and with the warnings about energy prices increasing by a further 60% over the next two years, I'm a bit wary about ever putting it on again! The thing is, because they have warned us, I feel it will give them every reason to put it up by 60% even if they don't need to. We'll all have got used to the predicted increase by then. They used the same crafty trick when they put up National Insurance contributions - announced it one year and put it into effect the next knowing that we were all used to the idea by then! At the moment, since I switched from BG to E.on my direct debits are more than £50 less per month for dual fuel but I don't suppose that will last. I asked them about fixing and they said it would cost another £250 a year so I really don't know what to do about it.

Anyway, enough moaning - I'd better put the shopping away and decide what to have for lunch so I'll see you all later.

    Afternoon all,

Was misty here earlier but now just cloudy,so that's an improvement.

Hugs to all not feeling well, hope that your cold disappears soon Smoky. Hugs also who are having a sad time at present.

Congratulations to all on SATS results.

Littlemisskitkat....Thomas is beautiful, take things easy as you can with house move.

Have to dig out cot to-day...its in a shed, and get it all cleaned before DD2 arrives to-morrow with DGDs 1 & 3...think that it needs a new mattress too, so that has to be done to-day also

OH complaining of pains in his chest this morning, that's a first...will he consider going to hospital, will he heck, so have decided to start an on-line diary of how he is..we don't see cardiologist again until 14th August.

    Have a good day all
