Off to see mother dear today. Or will do later. Washing up is done, kitchen sorted. Hoovering still yet to be done (I've got a good excuse honest).
Lily went completely nuts yesterday. Screamed practically all day and by the time OH came home I was well on my way to complete insanity. Still haven't worked out what was wrong with her....tried food, play, sleep (bad idea that....got a big headache as a result)...nothing worked. So I spent the evening recovering quietly. Please let today be better.
I did make my cake yesterday morning...as I'd been thinging about for the past few days. Its very, very soft. I like it. Hopefully it'll get the thumbs up from OH today.
Had spag bol last night .... got thumbs up from OH. Haven't enjoyed tea so much for ages he exclaims. Hrumph I say....remember I'm saving everything nice for when we have your girls! Oh yeah he says. Men hey.
Tonight is easy....waits to get slated....Indian chicken ready meal. Yes a ready meal. However, it was one of those that we got 12 meals for a grand total of 2 quid. So each meal has a cost of around 17p. Even I can suffer a ready meal at that price.
Besides I'll be at my mum's until around 6pm and something asy and quick is in order.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Morning Friends
Cloudy down her today, Weather was good y/day when DD1, DD2 and I went shopping. Bought DD1 a pair of shoes for £5 reduced from £25, and DD2 had a jumper for £4 reduced from £15. Couldn't find Mothercare but when we got home I found the address so will have to take DD2 there tomorrow. DD1 swore she knew where it was. We did have a lovely day.
Must shop for F&V today, have found some gammon in freezer, the small one is nearly empty so when it is I shall put it on Freecycle so that will cut down on elecy. We have a small square freezer and a chest freezer.
DH had blood test results, he has ruematoid arthritis (sp.) in his hand and what with my gammy hand we make a right pair.
CONGRATS to all the hard working kids that had good results.
To all teachers, DD1 teaches in Bath, enjoy your hols.
((((HUGS)))) SMOKIE, hope you feel better soon. CANDYGIRL and your DDAD, PENPIN, MRS.MIX, ANNIE, CHRISCA, hope yesterday went as good as it could.
An extra (((HUG))) going spare if anyone needs it.0 -
Morning All
Congrats to your Misses Stefejb & SD and Good Luck to anyone waiting results. Also to Stefejb re the job - I think.
Don't mention putting Heating M I'm back next week and used to warmer climbs. I just got my final E-On Bill and cannot understand how we could have used 50% of the units for the same period last year when we have only been there 3 weeks in this quarter. Now with Scottish Power and a £75 quidco payback validated, plus fixed to 2010. But at least in credit by £9 and nothing to pay - had reduced the direct debit to consider absence but will be carrying out some usage tests when we get home. Hope you are recovering from your welcome back plan?;)
HH - why do you have to work 3 days for no pay, do not volunteer, if they want the work doing, they should ask you to work and pay you. If there is inference of inability, offer to do them a swop for a week, I don't think they'll take you up. I am also sure you are capable of a higher grade job than you have too. Is it is the new or the old Head who is holding up the newsletter? Are you sure your BP is OK, think mine would be up a little with the stress.
sammy - BF can always babysit for his sister while you and lo go out for a meal - he doesn't need you there to babysit does he?
Essex-girl - no finishing someone is never relished and often hurts you more than them, but you have to do what you need to do ((hugs)).
Aussie - however do you find those pics?? :rotfl: :rotfl: Glad your sister is doing well though overdoing it, wonder who she is like . . . AnnieBL - have a great holiday.
Glad your uncle came through OK - n9eav
smokybabe - (((hugs))) hope the cold doesn't develop into anything too nasty - and the lo's avoid it - nice of the school to know what was happenng
pen-pin - enjoy your holiday - hope OH is OK now.
((((hugs)))) everyone else
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning
It's drizzling here, and it's that awful stuff that seems to get you wetter than proper rain IYKWIM
Aussie, I hope everyone realises you are down under, or they might think you have a drink problem
N9eav, glad your uncle got through his op OK.
Mioliere, I made scones in the Remoska yesterday, and the recipe book said 15 - 20 mins, and they weren't ready
Got to get some garden canes today as my tomatoes have fallen over, then off to Aldi and Asda. Looks like people are finally catching on to the cheaper supermarkets as Lidl was packed yesterday, and my local Aldi is extending.
Off to an auction later, so takeaway for dinner, and I'll parktake of a couple of glasses of wine
Bye for now xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good morning all
I've not gone yet Aussie! (Loved the pic but now wonder what I will be missing while I'm away. ) Sorry to hear your DSis is overdoing things - it won't help her recovery. Glad to hear she feels well enough to overdo things though - if that makes sense. Enjoy your vino.
Congratulations to all those whose children did well in their SATs. :T
(((hugs)))) to all who need them - especially Smoky, mrs mix, Candygirl and parents, Jayward, Betheebee and DBs, Chrisca, Pen-Pin, HH and family and anniestar.
rchddap There will, unfortunately, be days like yesterday. Thankfully all the fabulous days more than make up for it - but it doesn't seem like that at the time. ((hugs))
I know that there's lots more I should mention but my mind has gone blank.
Only at w**k till 12.30 then I AM ON HOLIDAY!!! :j :j :j I am soooo looking forward to this holiday, even though the weather forecast is miserable. When I come back I will be running the office on my own for three weeks so I want to be as relaxed as possible.
Wanted to check in online but can only do so 24 hours before the flight, not 24 hours and 20 minutes, 24 hours. So I will have to do that at 8.20 exactly then rush to work.
Will book a few things today for DS and DD - such as pony trekking - once I have checked the 5-day forecast. Think they will want to that on a dry day. :rotfl:
Hope everyone keeps well while I'm gone. :hello: xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning All
Not had time to post last couple of days, getting my head round the new job. At the moment am unsure why he is employing me :rotfl:Not a lot to do. I hate sitting around. Think I was so glad to be offered a job I didn't really go into it enough, Oh well, that'll teach me.
Congrats to the SATS results and hope the rest of them are out before the hols.
Once I get home tonight am making cakes to take to the truck show, lemon drizzle and choc chip muffins. Am also taking my wellies as I think it could be a bit muddy. Also will make sure OH takes his dongle thingy so I can get onto the internet, will try and catch up on the dailies.
(((hugs for those in need)))
Have a good day xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Alarm went at 6a.m. and managed to get in the shower after DD at 6.30.
Had a low carb breakfast and DH will drive me to the station at 9 a.m. so I can meet DD(22) in Manchester.
Am leaving family with an almost empty fridge as every time I ask DH to drive me for a big shop he puts it off. So they can all learn the hard way!!!!
I have a bag with the GHDs that arrived yesterday and I looked out several books I thought D might like to read...
Her job interview is at 3 so I will be crossing everything I can think of that she gets the job. It would be lovely to have her only an hour away by train, rather than the four hours it takes now.
Hugs to everyone especially Hester, anniestar,Penny Pincher, Chrisca,Betheebee, Jayward,Candygirl,Mrs mix and Smokey."This site is addictive!"

Morning :hello:
Meanmarie, I think part of master troo's apprenticeship was to learn 'jobs that need doing in your own house are to be started but never finished'. He started to replace our window sills 18 months ago, so far he has managed to replace two :rotfl:
I'm in shock, mr troo - who laughs at my OS way of doing things (in a nice way - then I hear him telling anyone who'll listen how much better and cheaper it all is) - has announced that we should try making our own butter
He nipped into his fave beer shop after work (it was important cos they had a limited edition in  ) and Tim (owner) had sold some of my cards, so he came out of there with more money than he went in with
I have to nip to the PO and bank for work, then the day is ours. The housework is all done, I want to make some rolls and buy some bread tins but apart from that I'm not sure what we're doing.I am a coffee bean0 -
