  • Have replied to the poll - Walked into branch. I received the £100 into the Savings Acct which was set up at the same time as the current account, on 17th Nov. Hadn't requested the Savings acct, it was just done with the current acct.

Hadn't been in touch with anyone, as actually hadn't had the full 3 £800 deposits, although all accounts had been switched to Co-op.
  • Thanks JJ - I have a possible theory that maybe their payments are phased depending on how well you ran your account; people who used it as a current account being paid first and people who clearly were following the rules to the minimum being paid at the end - maybe we need another poll

I transferred all my household direct debits and standing orders over at the start of September, as it is being used as our bill payment account.

I opened my account in branch and have received the incentive payment.

My OH began to open his account over the phone to the main Co-Operative phone number - the call centre. When they said they needed ID, he walked into the nearest branch 10 minutes later to provide ID. However the call centre operative hadn't done the application properly and so it had to be started from scratch within the branch.

Both on the phone to the call centre and in the branch it was confirmed clearly that opening the account in that way would make him eligible for the incentive.

He still hasn't received the payment.

He phoned today, and the first person (at the call centre) didn't know what he was talking about and so had to consult a manager. On explaining to the manager and quoting his application number (from the letter received before the account became active) and his account number etc.. the manager confirmed his incentive payment would definitely be paid and would be paid on 22nd December.

I hope some of that information is helpful to others, and I will post to let you know when the payment is received!

Just an update from me too.

I sent them a letter last Saturday (13th December) after being fobbed off all week.

I phoned them today, and have been told that they have received the letter and it is being processed and I should be receiving the payment, as they have checked the content of my letter.

The advisor said that there may be a slight delay with it being Christmas, but I should be receiving the payment soon.

I hope this is the last time I have to call them.

I opened an account in sept and have paid in £800 in each month but no sign of the £100. Is it worth ringing them

i have just rang them. they say just because I am only paying in the £800 and not using the account for anything else I am not entitled to the the incentive

    Can they do this
  • Um, in the first post, it says the offer was "pay in £800 for 3 months and get £100 credit". I've just checked the leaflet in post #47 (I think) and it says "pay in £100pm and you'll be credited by 22 December".

As I only made the 3 payments (bugg'r!) I've just been told I don't qualify, and now I'm really embarrassed for not reading and understanding the Ts & Cs :o

Oh well, you win some, you lose some...

Thats all that I did and I got the payment. In fact the £100 was there before I had moved the third £800 over.
