• have this problem also, 32000 miles, almost 4yrs old...

OH spoke to renault earlier, who asked what we'd like them to do...

they are taking it in for the diagnostics on weds, they said it'll take 2 hours... local garage the phone renault HQ who will "make them an offer to be put to us..."

then we have to decide what we want to do about it...

i loved renault up til reading all this stuff online about the crappy dash...

• same problem here, ive traced it to the big grey multiplug on the top left as when the dash starts to play up if i push the plug into the dash it stops and works for a bit longer must be a dry solder joint on it??????

Is there any update to this story
• Hi, I´m very curious where this case is going. I have just the same problem described earlier. I live in Sweden and I bet the problem is as common here...
• Yes i had the same problem with mine but as i am a mechanic i got on to renault and complained to head office about it! Its a manafacturing fault they also was going to charge me £534 to replace it on a 53 plate so i told them how it was and only had a bill of £87 to pay! Sorry not putting up with prices that main dealers charge! If you need advise how i did it, Ask me! My email address is- dezza694u2@hotmail.co.uk

had the same problem with the wife's 05 Grand Scenic. Took it to Renault dealer and they did all of the donkey work for us - they phoned Renault Customer service, Renault contributed 80% of the cost, the dealer paid 10% and we paid 10% for a new dash....couldn't ask for better service really !!
• My Scenic Dashboard went (just over 4 years old) and I had it replaced via my local garage. After reading this forum, I contacted Renault Customer Services who were very helpful and refunded the cost of the dashboard. I was very impressed with Renault customer services.
