I'm afraid I was talking to them til I was blue in the face. There was a stage where I was left speechless because it was just going around in circles. I did e-mail them a copy of their map with the zones, but I couldn't point out on it where the hotel was because it wasn't on the the map of Dublin! They stopped answering my e-mails, despite the fact that I was calm and polite despite how I felt. Got the same reaction on the phone - just "I'm sorry you believe the hotel is not in the zone, but it within the shaded area on the map".

Just wondering if you got a refund for the Name Your Price feature, and if it was through e-mail or on the phone?

Yep, they were through NYOP. The first was by email, and that was because the hotel they had allocated me was undergoing reburbishment. In hindsight it would have had little effect on my plans, but I was panicking. On the second occasion I emailed them first and got no joy, and then rang up. That was because I wanted to cancel because of the BA strikes, so they would have been completely within their rights to have declined me.

Have you thought about getting the hotel involved? They are going to have a lot of unhappy PL customers being sent their way, so perhaps an email from them would do the trick?

Yeah, e-mailed the hotel but they didn't reply. Gonna try again, maybe give them a ring. Not happy with that at all either.

Hi just came off the phone with priceline - dreadful experience. Couldn't get them to refund all monies because of star rating and terrible reviews on other websites but was able to get an £80 plus 10% of price paid because the price on the hotel website was so much cheaper. The phone call was a nightmare, was on for over 45 minutes, (calling 0800 number from Ireland which will cost a small fortune in itself), first rep. called Bernard hung up before a word was said, then called again and Lebby couldn't figure out what I meant by Sterling/Euro exchange rates. Then "Mister Richard" came on and after leaving me on hold for 8 minutes came back on and had to be taken through it stage by stage in order for him to get the rates I was getting directly from Hotel website. Makes you wonder how they can be expected to work for a web based company. Anyway recorded all of the call so have records of all dealings with them. Very poor customer service department. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. If the hotel is dreadful will take videos and photos and will definitely pursue them in small claims court at least.

I would not say that the reviews are terrible for this hotel, although some rooms seem better than others, and several sites do have it as a 4 star. However the overpricing issue seems to have come up before - sounds like the hotel are agreeing a price with PL whilst knowing that they are still cheaper direct, and PL have gone on their word rather than doing their own research.

    Overpriced
Looks like this is always the case with PL bids for the Morgana

    Example

    Example

    Example

Looks like it's a "new" win so no data

What hotel were you expecting after you had done your research.

What were the prices of other likely wins?

There is nothing to pay per say (aprt from your time)

    Read my guide.

Vegas is not the best place to get PL bargains as all the hotels have bargains dependant on occupancy.
  • How do I book a family holiday for 4 i.e. 2 adults and 2 teenagers, as no option to specify on bid form.

Also how do you guarantee if you also want breakfast, internet and parking as part of the package, as additional costs are normally quite a lot.

Any tip or advise would be appreciated, thanks.

    Regards

    Masterkik
