Blindman, it's true. Some hotels do NOT get the person(s) booking INFO for 2 weeks (sometimes less) before the check-in date.
Example..one comapny says:
According to contracts with the hotels, we buy allotments from them. When you make a booking, we use this allotment for confirming your rooms instantly. The hotel is informed about your reservation and guest names only 3-7 days before your check-in date.*If you like the advice I give...let me know by clicking the THANKS button*

This is about Priceline wins:rolleyes:laffer stated something(s) I believe to be incorrect.I hope you've learned something today
AFAIK when you win with a PL bid the booking is like any other normal one in that the hotel is informed of the guest details, and there is usually a Hotel reference number too.
Once won, the bidder can 'phone the hotel almost immediately and confirm the booking if they want and ask for room preferences.
From PL Hotel Rooms Guarantee PageHere's our promise to you:- Your hotel will be confirmed for the dates, area, and star level that you agreed to (or higher star level).
- Your reservation will be immediately entered into the hotel's own central reservation system.

I also said in my post that some websites DO NOT give the booking info. til close to the check in date so maybe they did. I hardly use Priceline so I don't give a rats bum about them. I was just saying OTHER websites do and can do that. So yes..I hope you did learn somethng today!

then why are you on this thread
I was just saying OTHER websites do and can do that.
Not exactly relevant though is it
So yes..I hope you did learn somethng today!
I learned that some people will answer questions that have not been asked0 -
Blindman. You provide a welcome service to this board but do not be so arrogant and dismissive of what other people say. Some hotel chains do not want the details of all the guests until shortly before the person arrives. I know not the reason for this but I know that it happens as others have confirmed. Each Hotel has its own policy and it will interact with Priceline and other providers accordingly. I did not suggest that it was always the case that an individual would not have their details with the hotel months in advance (and if I did I apologise) but rather suggested that on occassion some hotels do not take details until a few weeks before arrival. This is about Priceline wins:rolleyes:laffer stated something(s) I believe to be incorrect.AFAIK when you win with a PL bid the booking is like any other normal one in that the hotel is informed of the guest details, and there is usually a Hotel reference number too.Once won, the bidder can 'phone the hotel almost immediately and confirm the booking if they want and ask for room preferences. From PL Hotel Rooms Guarantee Page

You gave incorrect information -in two posts-Hence being dismissive.

You can't mean Nordictat2 as he was also not referring to PL

You actually saidSometimes this does not work as the Hotel only takes the guests details from priceline a short time before the reservation
Which is incorrect.
I'm all for learning new stuff etc but if you're going to give advice at least get it from experience or some reliable source.0
