Winning Bid £63 per night plus taxes

I stayed at this hotel last year, and am very pleased to get it again. Perfect location, next to the Westfield Shopping Mall (and fantastic food court!) and the bus stop for Santa Monica is on the corner!
Just got two more days to sort in SF now ...Gone ... or have I?0 -
Destination: London NH Kensington
Dates: 12th October to the 15th October
Type of accommodation: Four star hotel - 4*
How much were your 2nd/3rd etc & final bids : Started at £50 and increased to £53 next day and accepted

The cheapest I could find elsewhere for the same hotel was £125 per night!0 -
the difference between priceline and most other traditional 3rd party websites is obviously that with priceline the hotel has to accept the bid - and therefore has the traveller's info immediately. With other 3rd parties they do of course buy blocks of rooms from the hotel then resell them to their customers. In those cases the hotel may not have the traveller's details until 1 or 2 weeks out...because the hotel's already 'sold' the room to the 3rd party (i.e. expedia, etc.) and doesn't have need for the individual customer's info until closer to the time of the booking.
So I agree that when booking with other 3rd parties your details may not be in the hotel's system until shortly before the booking, with priceline they will be there more or less immediately...so on a priceline-specific thread, it's irrelevant what other 3rd parties do...only what priceline does.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

got two nights in novotel tour eiffel 4 star for 61 a night, about 130 with extras,
started at 50 using an empty payg credit card! that way they debit nothing but the message 'your card wont work' tells you what they would have accepted! works everytime for me.
btw the hotel is usually 304 fot the same time but have seen offers around 250 fot the period.
good 50% saving.
parking though is a touch expensive at 23 a night. any suggestions _ we need the car though!0 -

Hiya,
Can you elaborate on this for me please? So when you get the message "your card wont work" does it then say that you need £xx on your card to be accepted? That way you always pay the minimum acceptable bid? I had been trying to book a room in Key West for my upcoming trip but gave up after bidding £100 a night. Would be fantastic if there was a way of knowing what the minimum acceptable bids would be!

Have you done any research on either Betterbidding or Biddingfortravel ?0 -
Probably not the hardest bargain ever driven, but I'm happy anyway...
Hilton London Canary Wharf, usually £189, I bid £40, got an offer at £60 (£74 inclusive). Might have been able to get it down to £50 if I'd waited another day, but that would be cutting it a bit too close for comfort, so I bottled it and took the offer.
But yay! Only £15 more than the (not very nice) Holiday Inn Express, and a lot closer to where I wanted to be!:T
