I am thinking of transferring from BT to Primus Home Saver as I am a very low phone user (outgoing calls are on mobile free minutes) and the £9.50 per month is more attractive than the BT rate.
However, I am worried about how good Primus are - has anyone got any feedback?
How much notice do I need to give BT to transfer out of their service?
Despite what the website says on the MSE link the Customer Service is now in India and leaves a lot to be desired.
You dont need to tell BT new supplier arranges the transfer.
Alternative suggestion BT subsidiary http://www.madasafish.com/talk/ only £9.75p a month rental with no long contract.0 -
I'm assuming madasafish's call centre is exclusively UK-based?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

Does it matter as long as it opens 7 days a week and gives good service.
I use to use their broadband service and dealt with Sheffield and Durban.0 -
Hi ikr2
If you started a new telephone line with BT there may be a connection charge of £122.50 if there is no active line in the property already. If you have an active line in the property already we would take over the existing line which would mean the connection charge would not apply. The lowest price for line rental with BT is £11.25 inc VAT per month on paper free billing and a Direct Debit. Also you can download a usage monitor from Google to keep an eye on your usage.

We've been with Primus for the past 3/4 years approx. We pay for 24/7 calls around £8.50 per month. OH has had a letter from BT saying 0845 and 0870 calls are now free plus unlimited calls 24/7 plus line rental for £16+. So he thinks that's a better deal as we are paying line rental to BT and our Primus bill this month was £12.60. Apparently there were a few 0844, 0845 calls and even an 0911 call made. Whoops!!! I'm sure it was him and not me or the kids!
We pay AOL £14.99 month but they keep kicking us off and then re-booting, which is sooooo annoying!
OH is therefore thinking about having BT on 12 month renewable contract for BB and all phone connections. We make international calls about once or twice a week but check with international call checker each time to make sure we use the right connector.
Before he does any of this though I wanted to check what's happening via this thread.
Heinz - I've read your HERE message but as we need 24/7 calls would you still recommend BT over Primus please?
I'm off to look at BT internet threads and see what others are saying about them and comparing to AOL, who we've been with for years.
Thanks for any input from everyone and anyone else too0 -

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Penny Mobile 2 CPS and can't, therefore, get flat rate 20p (for 20 mnutes) at any time calls to any UK mobile.
We use our mobiles for mobile calls and no I didn't try for the Penny Mobile 2 CPS - I hadn't kept up with the charges!0 -

I thought the Post Office only did inclusive calls on off peak times, do they now offer anytime calls?
I would like to change from BT & Euphony for calls but am looking for anytime calls, caller display, 0845/0870 inclusive and do not need broadband, any recommendations. Ideally like something simple without having to dial a access number for calls.0 -
