I scanned the messages for comments on 'firsttelecom'.
I found none.
They offer a talkeasy package for phone users which has no connection per call charge. Other costs seem very good too.
They came 'best' up on searching another telephone web site.{U Switch}
Any pro's, con's or actual experiences pls ?

I'm in the process of switching my phone account and standing charge from BT to Tiscali as I already have broadband with Tiscali.
I have received a letter from BT confirming this and an estimate that my final bill will be £158.73!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My last quarterly bill was paid last month. They are mentionining termination costs of service if tehy are within minimum periods as set out in some agreement.
There's no mention of this before deciding to swithc as far as I can see.
What am i letting myself in for as termination costs and how can I avoid them??0 -
I'm sorry hainsie (particularly as that was your first post on MSE) but, in a similar manner to always keeping the expression caveat emptor uppermost in your mind when buying or agreeing to buy something, you should also be aware of what you are committing yourself to when entering into a contract for a service.
BT are obviously charging you early exit fees because you are breaching a contract (probably a minimum term) to which you agreed.

Not at all happy about this.
Here I am trying to save soem money and I get stung for small print that you can't actually see.
Sooner I say bye bye to BT the better, I won't be going back to them.
Perhaps I'll just forget to pay it and ask them to supply a copy of my signed contract.0 -
I wouldn't advise that Hainse. Ask them to confirm exactly what the charges are for. If they are terms of your agreement you don't have a leg to stand on I'm afraid.0

I have an £8.99/month landline deal with no contract - it costs £25 if u need to reconnect.
The company also does a 5% cashback card on my fuel/shopping at Sainsburies, which means that I actually get FREE landline rental a month hohoho, If thats not a good deal what is?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hi there,
First post, and this is all seeming quite advanced to me, so apologies if I am asking in the wrong place...
My husband and I are primarily mobile phone users, and we keep debating whether to get rid of our landline. I switched from BT to TalkTalk a year ago to try and save some money on the line rental as we don't use it to make calls. (We mainly use our "free" mins on our mobile or Skype). However I think people like my bank require me to give them a landline number, so I'm a bit nervous about disconnecting.
Anyone else come across this? I've been reading about BT's incoming only / low usage options on this site, but don't claim income support etc. so don't qualify. Otherwise, is it possible to switch the landline number somehow?
Many thanks!0
